Do You Believe in True Friendship Between Riders?

When i first read it, i though Viper7 AKA Pointless & Unthoughtful Thead Originator (PUTO) had been at it again. But then i saw it was Rossiofsky. Basically same ..... However, a few great posts have saved the thread.

I see you like to give your opinions about everything, then why do you ignore replies to your dubble standards, when you called the aggressive passes in the first lap a fault at last gp, but ok at this one?

This example alone should be enough to show how full of .... you are.

A few years back roadracing world magazine did a few articles catching up with all the American greats Roberts Schwantz Lawson Rainey. It appears That all four of them now get along very well ( I know Roberts did not race with them) But Lawson and Rainey seemed to have formed a really good friendship, Lawson is the one that helped Rainey get back to racing Karts and they both talked on how they'll watch races, then call each other to discuss how much of ....... the new riders are, and how it was in the good old days! I would give my right nut and quit drinking just to be able to listen in on these conversations.

Im sure a lot of these riders get in heated rivalries from time to time but when its all said and done they get over it and realize how much respect they have for one another. The whole Pedrosa vs Lorenzo thing has seemed to died down already, though they're not exactly friends but you never know what the future holds for them.

This bit I don't get ........ are they really calling the younger riders .......? or is it more journo embellishment to keep up an active interest in US readership? To be honest most older ex racers here are pretty supportive of younger guys ...... something to do with them being able to empathize with them
<
Never heard of them being bitchy like that

Never heard Doohan call the youngies ......., or Gardiner ...... but when I think of it maybe its just an Aussie thing? Maybe Aussies have their say at the time when it matters .... then its done with? eg. Doohan and Criville ..... lot of agro during their competition but Doohan himself gives great credit to Criville and said that he himself "buried the hatchet" when he realized that during his racing career the guy that understood him the most, and with whom he could empathize, was Criville.

I think Rossi having "behind the scenes" digs at other riders is just a sign of the current frustration. eg. after that Gpone article about Beliscione ?? Rossi seems to still be having a ..... at Stoner ........ and yet when Stoner is interviewed here ...... Rossi doesn't enter into his interviews
<
certainly he would never make a bitchy comment about the other riders via such a backhanded method ..... it seems his method is to have a go at the time when an ncident has happened

Don't literally call them ....... but do frown upon electronics and criticize by saying that now a days the racers are more concerned about what glasses they're wearing on the podium than anything else! I'll go back and look for that magazine to get you an actual quote. It's just the typical old American "hard ..." attitude

I think that's a bit of a fantasy. Those guys know what it takes to ride at this level and i doubt any of them would be stupid enough to consider modern riders '.......', if they did it would make them look pretty stupid.

Exactly ....... I think journo's play up to the fans with such stories
