Jesus, how bad must a commentator be if your wishing for Scott Russell.

Finally finished watching all of the race action.

Pascarella has improved immensely in a short period of time. After the incident with Benny, I didn't really want Pascarella to take the win, but he rode almost flawlessly, and he was fortunate to find a backmarker during the final drag to the line. Beaubier, Cardenas, and DiSalvo also rode well, but the pace of the Triumph appears to be a bit much. If the Triumph advantage is aero, maybe the bike will be an even match at other venues. The amount of young talent in American road racing is so high, it's almost depressing. In the current industry environment, they will have difficulty earning paychecks and finding rides. The AMA is going to need a major injection of cash from sponsors who care about developing young talent (Monster and Red Bull fit the bill). If sponsors are not forthcoming, much of the AMA's talent will be lost to Europe.

In SBK, Herrin is exceeding my expectations. He still rides 600cc lines, but he is able to stay with the leaders early in the races. Hayes looks much stronger this year than last year, which could be down to Graves Yamaha getting their electronics package in order. I don't think Young is going to have anything for him this season, but I hope Young proves me wrong. RLH rode very well. Pegram exceed my expectations. Rapp has proven that the Kawasaki is a viable platform. Unfortunately, SBK is missing Tommy Hayden, but a replacement at the front will not be easy to find.

Respect to Elena Myers for winning her second AMA Pro Event.

seriously mate, you would not believe how bad this commentator was. After talking about all the riders that have lost their lives in everthing from motogp to the dakar he continually coughed into his mic. He had zero to say about the actual race we were watching.

When Benny had a mecanical and pulled off track, this jerk was saying "i think solis is lost, he really shouldnt be riding there, whats he doing".

Didn't occure to the gimp that benny was doing the correct thing and getting out of the way because his bike was busted. ....... gump.

Its really hard to tell what kind of young talent there is. Even Scott Russell said what ive been saying, a lot of guys are comfortable running the pace that DSB has to offer. Are they really that talented, are they capable of going 2-3 seconds faster on better machinery.. As far as the race Disalvo made a mistake. He was over a second a lap faster than the field, but hung with the pack after he caught them, fully expecting to blow on by with a draft move. He should have kept his head down and used his 1 plus second a lap advantage to try and pull away in the last couple laps

DVD'd it

Enjoyed the Race Daytona u got to slipstream.

Benny Bad .... was rooting for him (Thanks to Knowledge from PS)

Pascarella Dont know the name.but he looks promising and got to say i liked his riding style.he was Impressive well done

MotorsTV Yeah the commentary was ..... but motorstv could'nt hook up with the host tv audio

so the poor guy commentating was thrown in at the deep end so ill cut him some slack.

Benny was shown on tv talking his problem but we got zero audio with it..doh

btw its not the first time speed/usa audio and pic in the uk are .... not matter what sport it is..

Q.Whats the score there..

Russell is talking about the difference between 600s and 1000s. Zemke won an FX crown (more sophisticated than WSS), but he's never been much of an SBK rider. Sofuoglu wins WSS routinely, but he can't handle 1000cc SBKs. The state of tune in DSB is not really a problem. The cream can still make its way to the top.

As horsepower goes up, the sport changes. Some riders adapt. Some riders are stuck with the skills/lines they learned on smaller machines.

No, that was not what he was talking about. He was talking about how many riders were capable of winning DSB races because they were comfortable with the pace.

You couldnt be more wrong abour Zemke, he was an excellent Superbike rider, who beat Mladin on occasion during his rein of terror on the AMA. You obviously got him mixed up with someone else.

No. I obviously archived AMA Pro results on Wikipedia for the 2004-2008 seasons. Zemke scored 3 wins in 4 seasons at American Honda, and he was beaten by his teammate every season except 2007, when he was riding with James Ellison. Zemke is much better on middleweight bikes.

That doesnt mean he wasnt an excellent Superbike rider, he consistently ran at the front, and won races against the likes of Matt Mladin, Miguel Duhamel, You might have heard of them. Did he have better results on the 600's, of course he did, he wasnt racing against Mladin. When he was riding an HRC prepared Superbike, he was threat to win against the best Superbike rider the AMA has ever seen. I dont have to Google search to determine if Zemke was an excellent Superbike rider, i was there. Try going to a race instead of trying to impress people with your Goggle skills.

Gentlemen, enjoyed the weekend with excellent company and great racing. I haven't watched the race on screen to comment properly but from the place we sat, it was exciting until Benny had his mechanical, then I was bummed. But I got excited after the shock and the boys closed up the gaps to finish in a four way battle, congrats to Pascarella (I wasn't rooting for him but he won fair and square). Obviously, being a Benito fan, I was gutted for him in the race. The positive thing is he ran with the leaders after struggling all weekend.

Wilski is Wilski--the most positive man in the world. I finally got to meet JohnnyK, and he is exactly the person I thought he was, witty, resourceful, interesting, knowledgable, a racing fan and a decent man. And big props to LeviGarret who generously let us have a wild party at his house with about 100 uninvited guests. (Sorry about the holes in the walls, call JohnnyK, he can repair.)

I'm too tired, I'll continue this post later. (Slept about 8 hours total for the 4 day weekend which started Weds night (flew all night drove to track, crawled into bed about 4am after partying, repeated that for 3 days) to Sunday, arrived at midnight, only to drive to work in a daze. Good times.

Massive thanks to Levigarett for letting us crash at his house. Just wish you could have been there too !

Levi, what's it like in Soft Tails ?

To be honest Levi, we ran up a big bill on your Soft Tails credit account. Jum said you wouldn't mind !

I didn't have to use google to find out he won 3 races in 4 years with American Honda. I archived the information that google gave to you so you could see how few races Zemke won in his 4 year stint at American Honda and how average his results were. You can say you went to the races all you want. I don't think you were paying much attention.

Zemke's world class skills on a 600cc motorcycle do not translate to SBK. That was the point of the discussion.

And you are simply wrong, As i told you before, Zemke was an excellent Superbike rider, he just wasnt as good as Mladin. Who was? I can think of one, and thats debateable. Curious what you think of Josh Hayes. Going for his 3rd title in a row, yet wouldnt have won anything in Superbike, had Mldin and Spies stayed in the series. Its all timing. Zemke had the honor of racing against the 2 best Superbike riders the series has ever had. His teammate was one of the top 5 riders the series has ever had. He ran at the front and beat these guys straight up more than once. Josh Hayes had to beat Tommy Hayden, and Blake Young, nice riders, but will NEVER be confused with Ben Spies, Miguel Duhamel and Mat Mladin.

Have to agree with Pov on this one... Being a canuck and a big Miguel fan I was truly impressed be how good Zemke was when he first arrived on the HRC team - he was challenging his experienced and talented team mate right off the bat. And as Pov mentioned no one was touching team Zooki in those days...
