Rins, currently third in the championship, has proved himself to be a big talent this year. Oho Mr Emmett, -1 for poor maths.

What other mistakes does he make?

I think restricting website content to paying customers only is questionable at least. But then again, none of my business, really.

I've been on there a cople of times, but there's nothing there that I can't get here :D

I can get that here as well LOL.

Never been a fan of bullying and over the top troll-..... behavior - but a site without a bit of piss-taking gets to be a bit milquetoast which is what Dave's site seems to me.

I personally have knee-jerk reaction if I detect anything provocative. Starting an article in a free page and then continuing it in a non-free page is just that - provocation. Luring suckers. Not me, thank you very much.

Making a living as an independent MotoGP journalist is not an easy task. Monitizing content is pretty much SOP.

In an age where so many professions have been devalued, with newspapers and journals of all kinds devastated by the advent the internet - where the public become increasingly incapable of discerning the difference between recycled news, bogus news and click bait - where people are always expecting everything to be free, they lose sight of what it means to have access to truly insightful journalism that's worth paying for.

You get what you pay for is not just a cliche. Personally, I get really tired of having to sort through all the fluff and melodramatic .... writing on sports to get to the stories with real substance.

I think he was very good, well informed back when he posted on here, and one of the closest to being an honest man among those who cover gp bike racing.

I think he has gone towards being less controversial rather than proffering clickbait, but have sympathy for him as someone trying to make a living from being an independent motogp journalist, particularly a web-based one, which must be a fraught existence as everyone says. Any strong critical opinion on a rider is likely to alienate that rider’s fans, and his access must be at the whim of involved parties as well.

I used to be a regular reader of his, however with the recent advent of the pay wall I'm visiting alot less often.

It should also be noted that punctuality isn't one of his strong points. Used to be that race analysis would be up within 24 to 48 hours but more recently he has been very slow to upload the reports, even going so far as to apologise for their lateness, and now even provides a subscriber report in brief to make up for it which isnt really up to standard in my opinion. I'd say that he has probably taken on too much in terms of work load and its definitely having a negative impact on the site.

I admire his work but there's too many reasons not to visit regularly anymore.

I don't know if its the same in the rest of the world but here in the UK its ridiculous the amount of personal attacks on journalists who just report what they see and hear. Its not helped by our government who try to do everything to muzzle the press, especially when it comes to the excesses we see in claims for expenses that would get a normal citizen locked up.
