I think repeated finger injuries is what forced Schwantz into retirement. Could be bad news for Pedro.
I am starting to sympathize with him. If he has to return to Spain without a championship when his career is over it will be tuff. Being so short he will be ridiculed and ostracized.

The finger injuries don't sound too bad.
The kid is tough, which he demonstrated amply in the 250s.

I don't care how tuff you are; if you fingers don't work you ain't gonna win Motogp races. lose a pinky or 3rd maybe; fckup an index thumb or middle and look out.

I am sure you are correct, and I didn't mean to imply that he would or could race at laguna, although the distal phalanx fracture whilst painful should not impair function, and the bruising has a few days to settle.
I meant the finger comment more in reference to kevin schwantz's long term problems, and the comment about his toughness to the widespread comments that he is a pansy.

just read the official reports, and i have to agree, it isn't that nasty, although it will still be hard riding with those injuries. i could just imagine how he's feeling right now, all that soreness and pain. hope he could race by next week

So what. I recently mentioned that Hopper was my least favorite rider in motogp, yet seeing him crash was FAR from a joy and i wish him to fastest recovery possible. I don't want to see these guys missing races or getting hurt, whether they are my favorite or not.
