SSP – CRAIG JONES DIES IN HOSPITAL
After the extremely serious injuries suffered in yesterday’s SuperSport race at Brands Hatch, Craig Jones sadly died in the night.

The British rider had suffered major head injury after a collision with a bike following him. Only the brilliant medical skills and promptness of the track doctors at Brands Hatch had made it possible to resuscitate him (for as many as 4 times) at the circuit medical centre.

Craig reached the London Royal Hospital trauma centre in extremely critical conditions and died a few hours later.

sad news looks like andrew pitt may have hit him as he was right behind him when this accident happened looked again at it but its not clear cut he did hit him

This guy was a future world champion, and sadly again like Kato, the world has been robbed of a mega talent.

When I saw it I was hoping he was just knocked unconscious and would make a recovery in a couple of rounds time and then I just read the story on the BBC's site.

If you watch the crash he was out pretty much instantly, you can see this from the way he rag dolled across the track. Even in slow motion it's hard to see where the blow to the head came from.

I feel really terrible after witnessing the crash and now reading this awful news.

this sucks.... have not seen any of the brands races as speed tv suck! so sorry to hear this... rip brother.
 
looked in very slow motion at this again.looks like Andrew did hit Craig full on
at the moment he came off and initially hit the track.
he hits Craig in the helmet area with his front wheel
so sad was gutted when it happened live.at least it wasn't shown again on TV

I was just about to ..... about Harm's disqualification but that suddenly became meaningless.
 
Being myself a portuguese motorcycling fan and being Parkalgar a portuguese team, I became a great enthusiastic of Parkalgar and their riders. Since Craig Jones was much better than his teammate, I became his fan. And I just heard the news. I'm in shock...

May you rest in peace Craig Jones.

for all who had not seen it i found the vid of the crash at youtube. strange the crash at 1st does not look so bad. i can't really tell if it was the intial impact or pitt hitting him that would have caused the trauma. it's sickining to watch cause you know the outcome... man it's been a really bad year for this.
