I thought rossi did good, before his bike failed on him. He started 13th, he was riding in 5th position and he easily could have had a 3th podiumplace. It's a bit easy said of you gary, that it's hard to be a fan of rossi at the moment.. NOW he needs to put more effort in it, and you start to doubt him. I think it's wonderful to see rossi struggeling for a win, and when he finally get's one (and he will), he would be so happy to finish 1st. that struggle to win a race, I think, is more 'fun' to see then the last couple of years when he won everything

thats a bit rich isn't it? ..... i mean i don't particularly like the bloke but i thought he did a bloody good job today considering a chunk of his tyre went missing.

i would call today close ... if he was able to continue at that pace without any obstacles he could have gotten on the podium..

(BTW what is the world coming to I am defending ROSSI)

It was OK, he was 5th when he retired could have been 3rd or 4th if the tire hadn't failed, though that's not better than Edwards so overall it was so so.

Hayden's consistency is really good, he has a 30 point advantage over Rossi now. I can't believe I'm gonna win that bet.

I too have a bet with my tennis teacher (who's also a MotoGP fan) that he says Rossi will win the championship, I betted on Hayden, he said if its anyone other than Rossi I get a free private lesson

yes it was an interesting race, espeicially the bit where the Repsols crossed the line 1 and 2,made my day !Danni is looking good this year for the title, and i would not rule out Nicky,WHO MUST HAVE NOSE BLEED FROM BEING TOP OF THE TABLE FOR SO LONG ?

THE GOOD: Great race. Dani really had it today, Nicky threw lap record pace at him and he responded back even faster. Teo, you must be ecstatic between him, Barbera and Alonso. Eight straight for Nicky, hopefully he can get a win away from home soil one of these days, that fast left hander at Le Mans looks like a good spot for him to shine. Has to be a huge confidence boost for Edwards and couldn't have timed it better going to Le Mans where he did so well last year. Superb ride from Hopkins, the Suzuki looks to finally be improved. He will be a real force to be reckoned with at Bridgestone tracks and Laguna. I think Stoner may have had Hopkins by the end if he didn't lose four places going into the gravel. Tamada seems to be back, we'll see what happens on a European track before I make any predictions.

THE BAD: Ducati went pretty well backwards, especially Gibernau's 3rd to 10th performance. Toni Elias, where are you?

THE UGLY: Rossi's Michelins. How did he lose a chunk the size of Dani's fist out of the front?

Yep great race,

Hopper was superb with Suzuki's best placing for 5 years.

Rossi what can I say, was doing well till that tyre, but Im beginning to think these new young guns are starting to setr new benchmarks in MotoGP.

Pedrosa was superb and cool and well done NH for scoring yet another podium.

Rossi needs to get focused again and get his mind off the F1 switch or Im afraid we will see his crown get wrenched from his head this year.

Totally puzzled at Ducatis pace, they seem to have gone backwards since the opener or everyone has gone forwards.

Time to consider some rider changes now TT has scored some valuable points for me today.

as far as rossi's tire goin i wonder if it's because he was running a bit hard to make up all those place's thru the bad chatter & all. and that's what caused his tire to fail? i mean runnin as fast as he was with that kind of vibration surely took it's toll on the front. had that tire not gone he'd a been on the box. yamaha's in trouble me think's!

Yep I'm happy.

Though Sete is screwing my Fantasy motogp team. I've had enough of it. Too much talking very little results.

The fact that Hopper was 4th on the Bstones proves Sete and/or Ducati screwed, and I can't have expensive loosers in my team, he's going out. I was going to change him for Stoner this week but decided to wait because there was a big chance of rain. But now he's out.

SETE YOU ARE FIRED!!!

Well said like Sir Alan Sugar...

I think Sete is for the chop also.

Frosty oops my bad forgot about that, but that was Hoppers best finish anyhows.

Maybe this is like that biblical armageddon thing. With the flies and the meteors and Rossi pretending to be Sete and all that. Maybe the world is gonna end

Rossi is starting to get desperate. He was using a new wider profile front that up until Sunday he hadn't favoured. All the other michelin boys were using it for the extra grip but Rossi preferred the feel of the narrower front profile. In a move to improve the already questionable grip of his Yamaha he switched tryes but you could see the chatter was as bad as ever and he looks to me to be suffering on corner entry and with horsepower. He was pushing hard in his own mind for sure but I truly believe that it's a combination of Vale losing some of his 'mojo' ( disregarding the front tyre problem ) and the fact that the Hondas are just so good this year. If his tyre hadn't de-laminated it was still too little too late in my opinion and if he chooses to wait until he's comfortable at half race distance to push hard he's going to loose the championship.

Both the repsol boys are real strong. This is Nicky's best chance ever at the title and the way things are going this year if he gets a second at every race he could win it, remember the year Andrew Pitt won the supersport title and he never won a race.

On small thing to consider, the first four rounds have all been at 'oddball' tracks except for Valencia which had that first corner incident. Come Sunday the 'ground war' starts in earnest and the next six races will all be conducted in more familiar surroundings. We might see things settle into a pattern so by the time we get to Laguna we'll know just how close the title chase might be, Bring it on!

Right on Skid, things should get sorted here at the European tracks. Rossi will recover with the new, less rigid M1 frame that is supposed to be ready for Le Mans. Really just can't say enough about Dani right now, he controlled that race the whole way. Hats off.

just got home after being away for the weekend and have missed ALL motorsport going on

how was the race then guys? miss a good one did i?

An absolute performance from Repsol Honda. The battle for 5th with Stoner, Tamada, Melandri, Capirossi and Gibernau was a good one as well. Great rides from Edwards and Hopkins.

PS What the happened to Elias? 12th is not acceptable for someone I tipped to be the next Marco Melandri. Teo, you're the Spanish expert, what's his deal?

always handy, a relative with the same hobby

Elías has one big problem right now, he can't ride fast with the fuel tank full. So his first 5 to ten 10 laps are crap. Elías is not really good at sorting problems. He takes time to figure out solutions. I think the same I thought at the beggining of the season, he will start to be at the top by mid season, when he is comfy with the set ups of his bike.

If I were you I would think about dropping him. He's not going to score points consistently for a while. IMO.

I would get .... ehem ... I won't tell you my strategy !
