Id wait for a more reliable source, especially on the matter of a British rider.. If its true, then good luck to the lad, he and Ant have alot in common..

How much more realiable can the source be than Chaz himself and Luis D'Antin...

We spoke to Chaz Davies moments ago in California, and he said: "Yes, it's happening. I’m trying not to put any pressure on myself, I really want to go out there and enjoy myself and learn whatever I can about the bike.

“It's all been a bit of a rush, and I didn't realise at first the Japanese race was the weekend straight after Portugal. I have been to the track before but it was on a 250 and it’s a difficult track to know well.”

Team boss Luis D'Antin told MCN: "We are really pleased about getting Chaz, we had a very good experience with him when he rode for us before. We will decide soon what will happen for the remaining races of this year."
 
hope its true, i think the experance will do him the world of good, as ive said before. he needs a whole season to learn before we make our minds up on him.

Chaz Davies will ride a factory-backed D’Antin Ducati at Motegi this weekend at the Japanese MotoGP.

The chance of a ride as a stand-in came after the team sacked German rider Alex Hofmann on Sunday night after he pulled out of the Estoril MotoGP.

Good let him ride, i don't think he has it or deserves a full factory ride but at least now everyone can evaluate him.
 
Well I've seen Chaz ride here in the States, so I can say I've seen him personally and with my own eyes. And I admit, I'm impressed. I also respect that he relishes in the opportunity, unlike Spies who opted to stay in the AMA another year.

However, I'm just wondering, is Chaz the best there is to offer? I mean, are there not any better riders in the BSB? If Chaz is so good, why isn't he in the BSB, you know, that much more competitive national series? (Tom).

I know what your saying i thought Leon Haslam might have been asked he rides for Airwaves Ducati in BSB.

well if you listen to antfan, it's not what you no but who you no. by all accounts he is good buddys with casey so mums the word

Chaz is a national legend by far... I think he definitely deserves a ride, but not the one the Hoff deserves more.

Maybe if he was actually riding the thing, this would be applicable, but hes not.. Seems Stoner couldnt pull enough strings (suck enough ....) to get him in

Look, i have nothing against Chaz, he tried his arse off in 250s on ...... machinery just like Ant, but his results were never quiet as good as Westy's.. West was very lucky to get into GP's, I dont think Chaz will ever quite make it, sadly.. Time will tell..
 
Well that a shame...about Chaz I mean...

MCN getting things wrong are another matter for another thread.
