Not a bad way to kick off the season. Motogp and BSB first rounds on the same weekend. Can't make Brands, so my ... ain't gonna be moving far from the sofa this weekend. Saddle sores expected !

thanks to the pratt on the 600 Supersport for dropping fluids on the entire racing line, on an already wet track! couldn't see it clearly, but they were dropping like nine pins on the way down to Graham Hill bend on the restarted race, about halfway round the first lap, immediately the red flag came out again. it was light rain throughout the day with a strong breeze which could have dried the track a little bit. several superbike riders took advantage of 8 minutes free practice, 'bad boy' Brookes was interviewed almost straight after and he said he didn't want to risk it with Thruxton only a few days away. that saw a lot of people making for the exit before the meeting was abandoned for 2 wheels. new term is a bit confusing with all the new colour schemes, Shakey on a red and white Kwaka.

at least we had a good laugh on the way out, bloke on an RSV4 gave it big throttle on wet grass and mud, spun it 180 and almost dropped it, saving the bike when it was well keeled over.

apparently, this is the last season of the current track layout. instead of turning left at Graham Hill bend, the track will continue straight on, up the slope and then a hairpin left before rejoining the Cooper straight. imo it's going to get a bit stop-start like the car park at Donington. could mean a better view on the Southbank.

onwards and upwards, have to book me a licence upgrade test, albeit a restricted licence for 2 years. want to ride to Donington for WSBK next month!

Not a great curtain raise for the new BSB regs, but it is what it is. I hope they get some decent weather for Round 2. I want to see how the bikes work in comparison to the AMA bikes which have similar engine tuning regulations.

I'm not sure if i've read this as you intended it but I don't think anything that happened today is linked to the new regs.

I have heard nothing of this!! Please tell me more and/or direct me to the source of this info?

apparently it has already been in MCN, the info came over BSB radio, today, during the hold up of the supersport race. planning applications have been submitted, there are aerial projections on the 'new' circuit layout if you follow the sevenoaks link

What possible grounds could you have to infer that I linked the regulations to the cancellation of some events at Brands Indy?

some of the conversation went along the lines of riders highsiding coming out of G.H. bend onto Cooper straight because it is the first left turn from the start and cold tyres. not sure if there has been extra runoff added to Cooper straight, not had chance to see tv recording? like I said, nice for spectators, but how much extra track will there be? bikes will be going faster into a dip and that means needed runoff at the new hairpin, there isn't going to be a great deal of space for new track, taking into account pit/paddock access road

..... weather Brands does get it rough sometimes

Boat racing was ok i'm surprised they didnt call it off earlier

The 4 crashing together in the 848 race told you the conditions were bad

The Track alterations are stupid it will spoil the whole lay out

and looking at the new hairpin it will be longer in length and steeper to what will be the first Left

on the circuit what will that solve

Good to see B.E, Streams up
