What happened to Hodgson?

Never mind, found it. He busted his ... in warm up

Great racing in every class today. I was a little bit disapppointed with Easton at first, until I checked out his injury after the races - http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/sport/sp...content-block=1

5th and 6th is actually pretty ...... brilliant if he's riding with that.

Brilliant rides too from Hill, Ellison, Seeley and Brogan. Just a pity Bridewell got 2 DNF's after being so quick all weekend - reckon he could have had a podium in race 2 if it weren't for him coming together with Laverty.

The upload guys finally got both races up last night so I sat down to watch the races. As always I love that Eurosport coverage of BSB, they really do the best job covering a race. Good job Tommy Hill in race 1, he stuck in there behind Kiyo until it became time to pull the pin. The Brands Indy track being so short caused a lot of lap traffic, there were a few close calls with some back markers. Ellison had a great race working his way up to 3rd. Race 2 was a surprise, not only is the point situation changing but the grid changes as per the race 1 fastest lap times. Ellison now had his chance starting from the front row and took full advantage of it. Hill managed 2nd which gave him the overall points lead. Easton had two good races considering his injury. Seeley was the surprise of the weekend. Good start to the season.

Lets see what has changed:

- new knock out qualifying system
- new points system for top leaders going into final races
- grid change for race 2
- only 1 bike (the handling of wet races is going to be interesting)

Did I miss anything? Rolling starts perhaps? Allowing 1200's to race in the supersport class?

The new rules are ridiculous, why on earth should the championship be decided over 3 rounds? I just don't like it. But it is what it is and hopefully we get some good racing, year on year it occurs to me how old all our circuits are and how insane the superbike riders are to muscle them round such windy little tracks, but its so cool to watch so i'm happy enough with it. Surprised with how off the pace the Yamahas were this weekend but hopefully they'll get it sorted.

I love UK circuits; they're exciting!

While the danger factor for bikes is bad, I just can't keep myself from enjoying the old-style tracks. The "progress" seen in the form of modern circuits, particularly F1 venues, turns me off. I get more fun watching touring cars at Oulton Park or GTs at Mosport than I do seeing F1 cars speed through turns with an acre of paved runoff area. Ex F1 drivers have complemented North American circuits while racing in sports cars; I believe Mika Salo said they separated the men from the boys...or something like that.
