MotoGP's newest race winner, Andrea Dovizioso, will try a new chassis during this weekend's Czech Republic Grand Prix at Brno.

Despite his Donington Park victory, the Repsol Honda rider sits sixth in the 2009 MotoGP World Championship, with only half the points of title leader Valentino Rossi.

As a result, Dovizioso is willing to try the new parts during the race weekend, rather than wait for Monday's post-race test session.

“We pushed to try all the [new] material during this weekend, to get the maximum amount of information,” said Dovi on Thursday. “Unfortunately we couldn't fight for the championship so it is better to try everything we can. We have a new swingarm and if the conditions are good we will try it tomorrow.”

Dovizioso's team-mate Dani Pedrosa, who has also taken one race victory this season, is fourth in the championship, 72 points behind Rossi and 21 ahead of Dovizioso.

Loris Capirossi is hoping that 'important new parts' from Suzuki for this weekend's Czech Republic Grand Prix - including a revised engine - will help turnaround a tough spell for the GSV-R.

Capirossi and team-mate Chris Vermeulen have finished outside the top ten at the past two events and a Suzuki rider hasn't finished on the MotoGP podium since Capirossi's third place at Brno one year ago.

“We have received some new, important, parts from Suzuki,” the Italian said on Thursday. “We have a new engine to use for the last part of the season and this for sure will help a lot. I have a lot of motivation because the last few races have not been good for us and we have to come back again in the last part of the season.

“On Monday we will have many more new parts to test,” he continued. “We are not fighting for the championship, so maybe we can test a new chassis during the race weekend. We will see. I am quite happy because Suzuki is starting to work hard to try to close the gap.”

Lets see what Honda n Suzuki Bring to the table

Is it good to try a new engine when you are only allotted 5 total for the remainder of the season?

Finally Pigeon, some dignity around MotoGP ‘Racing’ subjects and stuff… I was beginning to worry about ‘Reality Shows’ taking over!

Good on you Dovisiozo and Capirossi… Go ahead a try out anything, sometimes it is a good thing, unless you really need to play it safe so no new parts for those moments.

some stories are just silly.FFS.who writes such .....Silly season bigtime.

Valentino Rossi insists he has not been offered injured Felipe Massa's Ferrari cockpit, and nor is he available.

"It is a true shame not to see Schumacher back with Ferrari," the Italian rider said in the Czech Republic
, ahead of this weekend's round of the MotoGP series.

"In my opinion he could have been in the fight for victory by his second race."

Rossi, 30, has in former times flirted with a switch to F1 with the Maranello based team, but he said he is not close to making the move now.

"I have spoken a lot with Stefano Domenicali in these last days about the return of Schumi," he is quoted as saying by Italy's Tuttosport, "but I have not received an offer.

"Anyway, I cannot go: I can't race motorbikes and F1 at the same time," Rossi added.

silly season gets better

still for kallio to just hop on the official bike and be considerably faster than hayden right away makes nicky look very bad

Haystack needs a new ride for 2010 not Ducati (Career killer)

Ducati have got to look a giving kallio an official seat in 2010.even after this FP1
will it be Stoners/haystacks seat.and September 1st is looming even closer for Ducati n Haystack

I don't know, Kallio is about the same weight/height/build as stoner, so there's not as much set up as you'd think.

But this is Kallio's big chance, he's gonna be out to prove something this week end, of that you can be sure.
