Ron,
I'd have to agree with you. But about crying if he left GP? Probrobly not. If he went to AMA, or WSBK, I'd be thrilled. I'd likely take time off work, and go to every single AMA race, just to hang out with him all the time.

He's got dedication that some of the riders in AMA, simply dont have. Plus, he's got amazing rain skills. (Remember that race in 2002, where he dropped it 3 times in the rain, and still finished 6th?)

Bayliss, Hodgson, Toseland, Xaus, Bostrom, Ducati, Suzuki, AMA, WSB and MotoGP rumors will be posted in silly season momentarily.

I was there man.. i was there. Silverstone 2002. It rained on and off all day but that race was comp wet. The guy is a fxcking hero and what really pisses me off is that whenever its been wet while Troys been in GPs, something has always happened which has prevented him from showing his might in those conditions. Remember Jerez2004? This year at Donnington? Theres prob more but i cant remember.

Theres some people on here that think that Troy isnt special but you dont win a world title and NEARLY a second one by being normal. Also remember 2000 where he finished 5th overall and only did half a season? amazing. I think some people think that he doesnt have finesse but look at what he used to do on that 998. He would ride a perfect race, get hunted down by edwards, and then pull a "rossi" and .... off into the distance. He is a real class act is Troy.

You we're there? At that race where he dumped it all those times? Man, you must have been jumping up and down every time he got back up and kept riding. Great stuff.

My friends went to GP, and said that easily out of the whole lot, Bayliss was the best, more friendly classy guy there. Geoff said he was really cool.

I'm just amazed by the guy. He's completely my role model. Plus... those eyes...
<

Yeah it was cool. One of the best races he won was Monza race 1 2001, remember? Edwards and him rubbed shoulders as Bayliss passed him going down the back straight towards the parabolica, classic.

Remember the year before that(Monza)? In one of the races he out-braked 4 guys going into the first chicane!

I once watched a profile on him on 'Men & Motors' (TV channel on sky) it showed him starting racing when he was a kid, then he gave up for a bit, became a paintshop sprayer i think, then went on a trackday, thought this is what i should be doing and started to race again. He is such a down to earth 'bloke' who doesnt bullshxt, does things his way and gives a million percent.

Really i suppose Troy, Colin and Neil Hodgson are my favourite riders from those days, becauase they all gave it everything and none of them used to bullshxt. I remember Brands Hatch 2001. It was neils first year in WSB and he won race 2 the year before so he was expected to win especially seeing as tho he was on pole too. Obviously Ben Bostrom cleaned up that year and in the post race interviews Neil admitted his bike had a problem, but also admitted that Ben rode better than him that day and that there was nothing he could do to catch Ben. I admire that.

I hate to tell you, but not everyone is your beloved Rossi. He's on a level of his own. if people don't routinely beat him it does not make them suck.
<

Ok lets share the love around boys
<
I do agree that he has not cut it, but you got to give the guy credit for trying, i feel sorry for him cause he just ain't comfortable on the bike, it does not suit his style or is it his style does not suit the bike, anyway i would have loved to see him do good, but such is life.
<
at the end of the day he is better than many other riders out there and something has to be said for that!!!

HaHa! Hi winner, camping was good mate, big fire, beer and bbq, all you need.

With regards to Troy- You can change a riding style if you can, but Troy not wanting to? He is a racer, just like all the others. They will do anything they can on their bikes to be faster. His style is almost a habit- a way of riding- You cant just undo all what you have learnt can you? What im saying is that its a bit stupid to assume that a racer is not going fast because he WONT change his style isnt it? He obviously cant change, as that is the way he learnt to ride. At least you agree on his determination Rossi 46 Winner, or should i call you 'Rossi's Monkey boy'

AGREED

Bayliss' riding style disagrees with the Honda, growing up on Superbikes will do that. Even Edwards struggled with the Honda after he adjusted himself to it and is flourishing on the Yam. I think Bayliss could do the same in a similar situation. He is very talented and determined. Here's to hoping for a ride in MotoGP in 2006 or a door back to MotoGP after a stint in WSB.

Well I'm going to throw the cat amongst the pigeons.

1st of all a compliment for Troy, Always think he's a straight up no nonsense guy always speaks the truth no ........, he is a top guy.

As a rider I don't think he makes the grade. In superbikes, I watch all his races and it was my opinion it was more the Ducati than Troy, The Ducati was absolutly dominant back then, and most riders would have done a similar thing.

I disagree with you guys about the change of riding style, If you have to change your style to be sucessful then thats what you have to or FAIL, its as simple as that. If you want to be sucessful you have to adjust, its happen's to be one of Rossi's strong points. Edwards also has a problem in this degree, he is so much over the front of the bike its hampering him at the moment.

Those are my thoughts on Troy

Now another rider who I thought is over rated but also a top guy (as a person I mean) is Neil Hodgson (speeling) I'm gonna get cained by you pom's for this.

But I think he is way overated. I was dissappointed when superbikes went to Ducati vs Ducati vs Ducati vs Ducati and then there was this one guy on a works Ducati better equipment than everyone else and he goes off and win's everything, chezz thats rocket science is'nt it. And then hearing everyone raving about him is a bit much. He game to MotoGP didn't do much. For me that s why I thinks he's hiding away in a bit of a secondary series in the US dosn't want to be found out.

How ever I can't be all negative and must say his rides on the Ducati when Edwards won the title were superb probably the pinicale of his career

Well guys time for to cain me but thats my true thoughts

Cheers

Neil and troy shouldn't be compared in theis debate though. troy is 3 years in GP and neil was clearly not supposed to be there, and was gone after one season. I agree on the neil thing with ducati vs ducati, vs factory ducati, actually.

Troy came to GP and finished 6h in his rookie year on a ducati which was brand new to GP...wow hes horrible!
