That's right folks.

WSBK round one at Phillip Island just got a boost.

Troy Bayliss is back on a Ducati for Phillip Island.

With the unfortunate injury to Davide Guigliano of a fractured vertebrae Ducati have wildcarded TB21 back in to the action.

Exciting just to see him back.

Good to see him back, and I hope he does well...Where he finishes the race should be a good measure of how good the field is....he wins then they all worse than i thought, he ends up in top 10 then they are better than expected....and he ends way back well then he's was just enjoying himself...

All we need now is Stoner to wildcard on a Pata Honda.

Biaggi to wildcard on the Ape as well.

Wild cards would fill the podium.

Well, this has certainly spiced up what was a pretty "Blah" field hasn't it.

Although I would dearly love to see it, I don't hold out high hopes of a top 5 spot. I would hate to be anyone who got beat by him trying to justify their spot on a team. You would barely know the season was about to start until it was announced TB was going to throw his leg over.

Well Bayliss turns his first laps today.

Whoever said it was right, I'd hate to be a rider that is slower than him.

Team bosses would be asking questions.

You guys really think a 45 year old has-been's publicity stunt is gonna make PI any spicier? Really? If he cracks the top ten I'll be amazed.

as per today's FP1 and 2 it does seem it is more a publicity stunt than a real fight for the win by Bayliss....

surprised me, I figured he would be last, due to limited time on the bike, but he is not to far off the pace, might even crack the top 10

If you want any indication as to how badly this might end, look at Scott Russell's, "Mr Daytonas" last attempt at Daytona. He couldn't even find his way around the track. He was more confused than migs around naked women

He only did 3 laps in FP1 and 19 laps in total due to bike issues.

I would not write him off yet. 2 more FP's and Quali then 2 races. Not suggesting he is going to win but I think we all see him in the top 10.

Well he didnt make top 10 in qualifying, but given he ended up 12th he should be able to get into top 10 easily.....also given there will be fallers, as shown by qualifying, he may surprise us yet.....

He seemed to do pretty well, running in the top 10 at Chang
