Backing the wrong horse?

That was not a USB fan, that was Repsol trying to recreate the old Marilyn white dress photos to get Dani to appear attractive to Nicky loving Americans. Sadly, health and safety and human rights for dwarves have made the photo shoot less sexy the those Spanish oil .......s intended.

And to balance things, Repsol tried a similar ad with Casey Spencer, but the combination of the white dress, flash and his unfeasably large teeth, the finished picture looked more like a total eclipse than the intended new sexy Freddie.

Ah, Pete, only you could look at picture of Pedrosa 'flying' and make the link that it was a Marilyn Monroe-inspired marketing campaign! Of course, the photo shoot failed in that regard; we both know there is only one man finds a coquettish-looking Dani Pedrosa attractive.

As for the Stoner experiment you refer to, again unsurprising results panned out that way
<
He would've got such great lift from those jug ears that he 'flew too high'.

But I've gotta pull you up on one thing: Freddie Spencer was sexy? Seriously? Oh, wait... it's the accent that does it for you, right?

Alex Criville

If you're talking about the rider between Hayden and Doohan... yeah, of course. I was talking about the tiny figure at the back--unless you're saying this was also Criville, referring to his 125cc championship with JJ Cobas in 1989...

Never seen this ad before. The guy in the gut section of the pants is too small to recognize. Maybe it's a Honda engineer? It sure does seem to confirm their attitude that it's all about the bike and not the rider, as the add indicates that their all the same with interchangeable parts.

Here's a hypothesis: The tiny, tiny dude is not a rider, but a dude in Repsol uniform. Been years since I visited Spain, so can't remember what the guys at Repsol servos wore....but what he's wearing doesn't ring a bell in terms of recognisable leathers. Kinda fits in with the advertising message, too.

Oh, sorry. Didn't even see him he's so tinnnnyyyyyyy

I should wear glasses, I know

OK, I can handle being called out for being a Pedrosa hating, Casey hating bigot, but you have gone too far here you ........ I am ....... livid that you think that I or anyone else on PS.net would fall for your insidious and downright offensive lies.

Hilarious post!

All the better to eat Rossi with.

Your boy was pwned the moment he stepped on the Dicati.

Dani and his team mate (Marksman) are perfectly suited, a pair of Spanish gits. They missed the good Spaniard and didn't beat the boss Spaniard (Caramello) into submission on the Casey bullying thing, so he left and told them to stick it.

Whilst I find Rossi (a self contrived marketing tool) as palatable as you find Stoner I find Pedrosa as unpalatable as well.

I also think leaving Rossi and his championships out is as big as insult they could muster. They are business people however and would hire him back in a second to market that cha-ching 46 brand. Pedrosa is about as marketable as duck herpes.

On another note Pete I have tried a few multi effects pedals and I like the Zoom B2.1U pedal. Cheap and effective?

Aahh duck herpes... tried selling that a few years back, never took off. Ill never know why.....

Never used it Andy, but I used a Zoom 506 and years later my son used a 506 2, the second version was a definate improvement, and the B2 gets good reviews.I was using my Danelectro chorus last night at rehearsal and getting some great sounds for upper register stuff. All good fun mate!

Barre chords on bass are great fun bud, great for getting your hand strength up!

I've got the A major shape beat & the E minor & A minor nearly mastered.

But I have a long way to go. I'm late 40's, patience is tough nowadays.

Pete, settled on the BOSS ME50B - got a second hand one off ebay for $88 from Brisbane. Bargain.

I had the ME50 pedal for lead playing and it was a cool functional pedal. I have a Boss GT8 guitar pedal and it is ...., to many setting and not enough usability. You have to be zoot to program it.

Frizz, keep it up mate, when we get our lazy arses around to it we'll post some video. There be no greater joy than a guitar in your hand...let me build on that - in public.
