Are you completely ........? seriously?

I friend of mine used to have an automated insult generator that inserted insults as his signature on Usenet and I would have considered this one of the better ones. But for someone outside a seriously sick race hygienic movements putting up a sentence like that! Unbeatable.

Thanks for reminding us that Hero Worship is one of the darker aspects of Human Nature.

You make it sound like they lost their life savings. Companies go under every day. If you lose money to a shady business it is your fault for not doing your homework. Believe me I pity no business either. I don't even know all the ifs an ands about the whole situation but how would you feel to see Swantz lose everything. Happy?

It's not about how I would feel regarding swantz or weather the customers did their homework or not (absolute ........ by the way) but about YOU imagining there is a Difference between a multi world champion and a customer! Nothing else.
I'm considered here to be a booper/wore-shipper but I can assure you I don't consider Rossi or any other racer or human to be above anyone else, not here on the forum and not out there on the round globe.

Nobody is happy to see Freddie lose everything, but he stiffed everybody. The people that lost their deposits were lied to and the instructors were lied to. The customers were told the sessions they had paid for had been canceled because of lack of entrants, and they could either sign up for a later class or get a refund. It appears that neither of those choices were an option, considering the track bikes had been repo'd and no one was answering the phone. He had not paid his instructors in months and was lying to them about what was going on.When your honest, people will forgive just about anything, if you come off as a lying thief, they wouldnt piss in your ear if your brain was on fire, regardless of who you are or how many World titles you have.

You rationalize a 'small' theft as trivial and somehow acceptable, then turn around and blame the victims for stupidly trusting a fellow human.  Remind me NEVER to trust you with so much as a dime.

Pov talked about honesty; I somehow suspect you don't know the meaning of the word. I may be grumpy and cynical, but I don't go around EXPECTING the world to screw me over at every turn. Nor do I consider it acceptable to screw others. Glad I'm not you!

Business is not about trust, it is about contract. You have contract law because no one is stupid enough to run a business on trust. You are a business. This site is a business. Governments are business....it's all business and has been for quite some time (eons). And Freddie's race school does what every other business does when it goes broke, stiffs everyone. Happens every day. Does a double world champion? No? That was my point. Don't make too big a deal about it he is broke and I'm not doling out pity cash it's just a sad story regardless. The bikes will end up on ebay and some useless millionaire guy like the grocery store bag magnate will put them in his rec room and tell everyone about how great he is for owning them even though he couldn't earn them. That's life.

Don't worry about me I'm a swell guy and wouldn't cheat anyone...just read the fine print and sign right there. Perfect, now bend over...oops been watching too much Wall Street news.

Settled then lets go steal those bikes...be just normal acceptable "business" according to gs

Not true, there are plenty of business run on trust because not everyone is out to .... people over. A famous example is Tiffany & co and Patek Philippe , These 2 company's have been in business together for over 150 years on nothing more than a gentleman's hand shake. In fact they produced a watch to commemorate this ,the T150. You find the nastier the people you do business with the more contracts you need. You have a very cynical point of view above.

The odd exception does not disprove a general rule. Cynical? Resigned realism is more like it. Don't blame me I didn't invent the system.

It doesn't seem like much if this is all that remains. It would seem even supernatural talent alone is not enough, in bike racing or life.

I enjoy your site also.
