I assume you are talking about Le mans where they battled for a wile and then West faded or Marco got a move on and made a gap. Either way Westy got done, making a perfect example of what i was talking about.

What do that transfer too. Is it LE mechanics only that touch the engine, MotoGP style, or is it like buying a SS factory/ten kate kit, and then start from the bottom to build a good engine?

Except that Marco has two of them, and rides for a two-rider team that can afford to go testing. Yeah, Simoncelli and West were in exactly the same situation.
