Alonso Vs Hamilton

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (SuperShinya56 @ Sep 29 2008, 06:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I don't give a rats behind about these 2 guys. F1 right now needs a real champion.... someone who stands above the rest, not just with their speed, but because of who they are as a person. Someone who is not afraid to say what is on his mind, but speaks with conviction and without bias. Someone like a Senna. Someone who doesn't protay himself to be a person he really isn't (Hamilton), but is confident in himself and what he stands for.

I don't like the fact that Hamilton pretends to be a 'nice guy'. Shiit, if you are an arrogant individual and full of yourself then so be it. Lewis try hard to be an individual with conviction who is not afraid to 'speak his mind', but sad truth is... the guy is just insecure about himself and really just an ..... when he opens his mouth. Look at what he said about Kimi having no balls, look at what he said in court during the appeal, saying he is the best in racing ever and that he knows everything there is to know about racing. I couldn't help but chuckle at his childish outbursts.

Now... onto Fernando Alonso. The guy is a prima donna. Always complaining about the littlest of things when it doesn't go his way. At least this guy is not afraid to be himself unlike Hamilton. Can't argue about Alonso's speed, because he is very fast and focus in racing. Doesn't make too many mistakes, and actually earned his championships racing in a Renault.

I hope they bring back Takuma Sato for next year, and I'm really hoping Bruno Senna can find a ride...... but my guess is he's holding back for another year, maybe he needs more experience or he is just waiting to get a better ride for when he makes his debut in F1. I know he is no where near his uncle Ayrton Senna, but i think the guy can leave his mark in F1 as a great driver... assuming of course if he can get a decent ride in F1.

Barrichello needs to quit, the guy has never shown any 'greatness' throughout his career. The guy is mediocre at best. Honda needs to get rid of Barrichello and try to pick up Bruno Senna after next year. Jenson Button has to go too, seems like he just gave up at Honda. It will be better for Jenson Button and Honda to part ways, time for a change.

Heikki Kovalainen is a waste..... the guy came into Mclaren declaring he will beat Hamilton and not make it easy on him. The guy can't even beat the Toyota's. Kovalainen is a joke and should not be in F1, but knowing Mclaren.... they will hold onto him just to make life easier for Hamilton.

And if any one of you disagree with me and have a problem with what I've said.... I don't give a shiit, these are my opinions.

Nice read!
I agree with a lot actually. Will reply a bit later on, need to focus on getting some work done!

Well there are valid arguments for either driver to be better, but ultimately it depends on what you feel is covered by the term "best driver" and what qualities you particularly value. There is of course all the issues of team favoritism last year, the consideration of "luck" and the inclusion of what either driver has achieved in the past. For me however car development, team realtionships and motivation are all important qualities in a driver. Additionally i don't believe luck has a significant role in the outcome at the end of a championship. So yes Alonso has 2 championships in the past, yes Mclaren wanted Lewis to win more, ALonso stropped when it wasn't going his way and Lewis benefited greatly from Alonsos development and setup work/data. Ultimately all of these things count, and Lewis beat Alonso last year and has gone on to retain his place in a top team (fighting for the title) while Alonso is now in a weaker position. Hamilton is the better F1 driver right now, and was last year too.

Get over it mate, Senna was a long time ago. There were great drivers and characters before Senna, and there has been and will be more after Senna. In the F1 topic you have gone out of your way to belittle the worlds 3 top drivers. If you hold the sports figureheads in such low regard why do you even follow the sport? This sport moves on rapidly from year to year, it seems you do not.

Did he actually say that??

I can certainly understand why people think of Hamilton as an arrogant person, and also a bit ''fake''. I'm not sure if he's arrogant, maybe he's just really really confident
<

If that's the case, I see it as a plus. I do think he's not acting ''real''. Especially if you look at last season, he looked like Mr. Perfect, the nice pr-talk, the nice smile, the good-guy act, but I don't buy it...but having said that, he should act the way he wants to, I'm not saying I like it, but it's his life, so whatever. All I can say is, I really appreciate his driving.
If he wins the title, he'll probably end up being more ''confident''

You make it sounds like it was a bad car. Both times he had the best car, but that's usually the case in F1. I know many people still believe mclaren was better in 05 and Ferrari in 06, but both times Renault proved to be the better car overall, therefore they also won the WCC both seasons. Anyway about Alonso. I think he's a great driver, but I do think that sometimes he whines a bit, I'm not a fan of that. He's the best I think, so there's no reason to whine when things don't go your way, and I'm not talking about last season, because then..I think he actually had a point. I'm talking about the times he won the title and still at some point complained that the team was not fully behind him. That was weird to say the least! Anyway, all the whining aside, he's the best one on the grid.

I like Takuma's aggressive style, but sometimes (actually more than just ''sometimes'') he was a bit too ''overenthousiastic''. I can understand why people say he had his chances in F1. About Bruno, well..I admire his uncle, but obviously that has nothing to do with him. Still I would love it if he'll do well in F1. I'm not sure next year would be the time for Bruno to join F1, imo he could use another year of experience. When he enters F1, it won't be easy for him, because I don't think he's as good as his uncle was, so the name will bring a lot of pressure.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jense go, he's good, but not great. Barri is just Mr. Nice Guy if you ask me, a bit like DC. Also a nice guy, but nothing spectacular. They both are former race winners, and that's all nice and stuff, but they never were the ''real deal''. I don't agree with Heikki being a waste. Well..if you mean at McLaren, then yes, because he obviously has no way of ever winning the title there while Lewis is still around. So he would be ''wasting'' his time there, but if you mean in F1, then I say no. I think he's a good driver, and he deserves to be in f1. If Heikki really is a winner, he should leave Mclaren, because all he will do is play 2nd fiddle to Lewis. I think he can do so much better if he's driving for a team who wants him to well, or at least ''equally'' well compared to his teammate.

By the way..I think Ferrari should make sure Ross Brawn comes back! If they want to dominate that is!

Barichello was a great teammate at Ferrari. It takes all kinds, and I don't think Ferrari and Schumacher could have achieved the dominance they did without a great team player like Rubens. McLaren would have won the WDC last year if they had someone like him instead of two number ones butting heads. F1 is a team gig.

If Honda can bag a great talent, they should keep Barichello to see if he can back up the lead driver. They have Ross Brawn now,no? Who knows what Honda could achieve after a year of developing a car, team, and team mate to support a potential champ?

I agree on Button though, what a disappointment!

Well of course you're right about that. RB is a GREAT NUMBER TWO driver. Both him and DC were good at playing 2nd fiddle. Seems Heikki is going the same direction..he better leave Mclaren asap!
I agree that McLaren would have won if they had a ''number 1'' driver and a ''number 2'' last season, but it's really their fault, and Ron has proven many times before in the past that he cant handle two ''great'' drivers in his team. Good that Heikki is there now! Lewis might actually win this year!
