As devoid of big news at the level of factory

teams and top riders, the MotoGP World Championship 2014 will introduce

new products in the pits. After the separation of the

winning couple Rossi-Burgess and the changes in the roster of technical

and Lorenzo Marquez, came the news of the divorce - or rather, restructuring of the relationship - between Dani Pedrosa and Alberto Puig.

The Spanish manager, reports Motocuatro , substantially decrease its presence inside the box while remaining HRC manager of the pilot of Sabadell . Puig

will no longer present at the short wall in the role of chief adviser

of Pedrosa, and take on other tasks, such as directing the Asian Cup,

commissioned by Dorna to cultivate talents in one of the fastest growing

sectors of the global motorcycle market.

Raul Jara, for some years in the entourage of Pedrosa, replace the manager.

From Motocuatro:

Alberto Puig changing role

And another change, almost as spectacular as the previous one, is the one that will occur in the box of Dani Pedrosa. The Spaniard faces his ninth season in the official HRC Honda team, who concluded contract at the end of 2014.
Dani has decided to make a change that does not affect the 'team', the

structure, but for the first time after 14 years (also) relationship,

his manager Alberto Puig will not be with him in the box.
Puig will remain the manager Dani, but its presence in the Grand Prix

will be reduced disappear its traditional position on the wall when Dani

is on track and will face new challenges, such as Custom Dorna to lead

the Asia Cup, to search for new talent in that area of the planet.

Puig remain part of the environment of Dani Pedrosa, but will do another role with less presence in the core. Raul Jara, which has been several years accompanying the driver in the World, take more responsibility for their work.

Already during the last test post season in Valencia, held after the

Grand Prix Championship in Cheste, it was observed the absence of Puig

in the corner of the box of Pedrosa, as you can see in the picture.

I remember reading on Krop's website about the behind-the-scenes power struggle between Alzamora and Puig. Guess we know who won...although the writing was probably on the wall the minute MM started racking up wins.

The again, Dani just may be tired of Puig's "advice".

About ....... time!!

I think on Twitter it sounded more like Puig would still be his manager but wouldn't have any official HRC role. Honestly Puig is probably getting prepared to move on from Pedrosa rather than the other way around. He always has interests in good up and coming riders and might be ready to find his next meal ticket.

So next season is win or bust for Pedrosa?

Nothing is guaranteed but for him to beat Lorenzo and Marquez will have to be his greatest racing season ever.

I don't see it happening

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh

So theres no Max Mosley type pics involved in getting so much power

Probably neither. I think 3rd in the championship would be enough to get him another Repsol Honda contract.

More then likely he will be left starving if he's left to picking talent from the asian cup.

Wonder if its an indicator that Dani will leave next year?

Hi there Barry, yep I was thinking pedro would retire/get the boot when his contract runs out. He's never quite managed to win a title has he, and with all the up & coming new talent I think he's past it.

I agree, but Honda holds all the cards in negotiations. It will be his choice if he stays, but at a greatly reduced figure. He could probably go to Suzuki and make twice the money, but would he want to.

Agree. He was bollocksed the moment Suppo moved from Ducati.
