not to change the subject..(kinda)..but honestly...don't you all think the current rule is ....... stupid...pick the tyres before you even get on the track?? I mean come on, thats ...........at the minimum...for "safty" sake, tire choice AFTER practice is the smart thing to do....


Of course they have some idea about what tires they want on the track but as few they are allowed this year it's truly a gamble and racing shouldn't be about gambling on picking the right tires, on thursday.
The rule might be the same for all, so it's fair enough, but that doesn't make it less stupid.

I disagree, variation is good for the sport and good for the markets involved. I think it is understandable and admirable that Bridgestone don't want to monopolize motogp because they prefer to be in a competative environment.


Yes, maybe, but Bridgestone do not seem to be so desperate for competition in F1 for example, where they are happily the single supplier now.

Anyway, the fact remains that, just like F1, MotoGP is not a competition about tyres, so if tyres become the deciding factor and count more than rider or bike, that is hardly the kind of 'competition' we care about
