A Dead Horse

it just interrupts the ignition, using a micro switch on the gear leaver, thats been used for donkeys years, .... , i had that on my road bike 10 years ago.

Yup yup ordering a quickshifter and an ignition control module for my 07 cbr 600
<

Edit: Whats funny is a quickshifter is allowed in supersport in clubs on my side the the US, also legal in ama supersport.

...those 07 Hondas are sweet as! I had an 03 cbr, first of the RRs, gearbox was faultless but you will have fun with the quickshifter, they're easy to set up too, you'll have even more fun with it if you go race pattern shift, one up, five down. Nice.

I have an 05 600RR. The 03 model was quite a bit heavier than the 05, but the new 07 is lighter still!

Good bikes, no doubt.

Anyway, TC needs to be limited. This is becoming ridiculous!

makes it a lot easer to change gears while doing a wheelie
<
<

i had an mre air shifter on my bike, change gear just by pressing a switch on the handlebars, full throttle without the clutch, take a second of a quarter mile sprint.
<
these are a lot more tricky to set up and you need an onboard compressor but the basic micro switch your talking about is cheap easy to set up and very affective.

I've read about those air-operated shifters rog but I never came accross one before, sounds a bit complicated and probably not much use on a racebike with the extra weight. Though I could see how the drag racing fraternity would go for something like that, interesting.

Yes, managed by TC....

Not necessarily.

I think that sums it up. The TC purests amongst us would say that what is actually happening is that the bike is being riden outside the TC envelope. If the envelope is large then there is less chance of this happening. The smaller the envelope is, ie the "less" TC you have dialled in, the easier it is to exceed the envelope.

What is this TC envelope you talk about? IF the TC is being called on the wheelspin would have been controlled, if TC was not being called on then the mistake lies in Rossi's right wrist. Most people are attempting to suggest that Rossi only crashed becase he had come to rely on electronic interference that naver came. Is that what you are trying to get at?

BTW - Has anyone considered that the Duck might be inherently unstable. I have spent a lot of my working life on the software for the Eurofighter which is inherently unstable in order to achieve the agililty required, and hence my question.

I think all of the bikes will be designed in this similar way now. It would be foolish to build in extra stability, that can be acheived electronically without the drawbacks for the agility. Electronics are now considered throughout the design of the bikes rather than being added on to an already working bike.
