2021 Misano - Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell'Emilia-Romagna

Agree, but one of my prime concerns regards 2022 is whether Ducati decide to invest in him and give him a 'fair go' in terms of support inside the sheds, or will they put all their eggs into the Pecco basket as an Italian rider on an Italian bike to win the title.

It would not be the first time where Ducati seem to want the Italian combination to work and while I mention how that may be detrimental to Miller, it could also be interesting to see how Pecco may handle the pressure as well.

Concerns me too that Jack has already been pegged into the support rider to Pecco role.
My second concern is that Bastianini and Marini are upcoming, these one year contracts make it easy for Ducati to create another of their “Italian dream teams” to guarantee the Italian rider on Italian bike championship.

I don’t think the supporting Pecco role is fixed but instead a reality of being in the position of being teammate to a rider fighting for the championship while you are not similarly so. The tables could well turn next year, though I doubt it. Ducati may well lose patience as they did with Dovi. However, I think Miller needs more time to prove himself either way. Is he an almost ran or not?

I would love for Jack to demonstrate himself to be better than he has shown thus far. I fear he won't though, he has powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men, but I fear there are several in the field who have even greater such powers and abilities.

I did hold out some hope I was wrong after the 2 successive wins, but as has been said he doesn't seem to be able to ride the tires, and if he pushes hard early to stay in touch runs out of tires late race.

Jacks style seems to make him hard on tires. He has great skills on the bike but he doesn't seem to be able to maintain the tires and go fast. I wonder if he would be better on a different bike. His style and ducati seem to put to much heat into the tires, he possibly wouldn't have this problem on the other bikes.

I think Jack could turn the corner, as Lorenzo had a similar problem with tyre consumption (Hodgson was gleefully saying Lorenzo was so desperate to lead that he’d go backwards in a few laps, during the early stages of his first win at Mugello). Once he’d sorted the conservation of the tyres out there was no stopping him (for a while anyway [emoji1]).
I’m optimistic Jack can master it too and do well, he’s certainly got the talent and bravery by the bucketload too.

That may be, but he is under contract to Ducati.

I just read an interview with Fabio, where he details coming to the realization that the Yamaha needed to be ridden like Lorenzo rode it. So he made it his business to figure that out.

Jack needs to figure out how the Ducati needs to be ridden to conserve the tires and simultaneously win the race.

He is running out of time, so he’d best get on with it.
