Just went to the official MotoGP site and the home page is emblazoned with The Doctor’s Last Chance. :D For what?

Just before I posted this - I caught myself accidentally writing “Milano”. :D Good cookies tho.

It actually says Last Dance as it'll be his last trundle round at his "home" circuit!!

Haha Last chance has been and gone, I think... :p

Doh! Well… considering his performance these last few years, for his sake, I hope it’s a slow dance.

This weekend will be the 10th anniversary of the death of Marco Simoncelli unfortunately. Fitting the race is at Misano. Hope the race goes smoothly Sunday.

Looks like Fabio has a lot of scenarios to seal the deal.

The following are the outcomes that will see Quartararo become a Grand Prix World Champion for the first time, with just three races remaining in 2021.

Quartararo: 2021 World Champion if:

- He wins the race
- He finishes 2nd and Bagnaia doesn’t win
- He finishes 3rd and Bagnaia doesn’t finish 1st or 2nd
- He finishes 4th or 5th and Bagnaia doesn’t finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd
- He finishes 6th or 7th and Bagnaia doesn’t finish in the top four
- He finishes 8th and Bagnaia doesn’t finish in the top five
- He finishes 9th and Bagnaia doesn’t finish in the top six
- He finishes 10th and Bagnaia doesn’t finish in the top seven
- He finishes 11th and Bagnaia doesn’t finish in the top eight
- He finishes 12th and Bagnaia doesn’t finish in the top nine
- He finishes 13th and Bagnaia doesn’t finish in the top 10
- He finishes 14th and Bagnaia doesn’t finish in the top 11
- He finishes 15th and Bagnaia doesn’t finish in the top 12
- He fails to score any points and Bagnaia doesn’t finish in the top 13

Listened to Doohan’s comments on the MotoGP site. Interesting and typically frank Doohan pronouncements regarding Honda, Marquez, current challengers and up and comers.

Ah, 2011...the first and last year I paid for a sub at Motopgp.com... I still remember DLing the race and wondering why it was only 20 min long...

Poor Rossi being involved in his friends death, I am surprised he didn't retire after that.

He wasn't really his friend at that point. In Rossi's orbit, once somebody established success, that person ceased being his friend.

Looked nasty out there. I have to think those conditions are rewarding judicious throttle control, modern electronics notwithstanding.

Surprised Petrucci wasn't further up towards the top as he usually excels in the wet.

Even as a non Rossi fan, I think your assessment is over-harsh. I've known racers who were bitter rivals, who would show up at the hospital to check in on a rider badly hurt in a race. Rossi may be a narcissistic ..., but he's not a sociopath.

Harsh perhaps but yes, I believe he is a narcissistic ... and just possibly a sociopath as well. Has he ever really apologized for anything?

He couldn't even be bothered to take off his helmet when he went to see Stoner. Pretty sure he didn't actually apologize there either. There's always an explanation for the sociopathic behaviour...

I've had a subscription for years and I've never had a problem. Then again, aside from this year's round at CoTA, I don't watch the races live. I did get an email earlier this year, I forget which race, apologizing for the blackout.

That was eventful. Fabio has his work cut out for him in the race tomorrow. Bags ice man cool performance for pole.

Definitely not looking like tomorrow is going to be Fabio’s day. Even if it dries. Bags knows and loves this track so well.

I have to agree with you there. Fabs’s frustration was plainly visible. He needs to up the race face/gamesmanship ante some more (maybe considerably) to make it into the upper echelon of ice man riders. He has improved considerably but this morning proves that in particular his wet weather riding still needs to improve considerably to make the next step.

You would never see Doohan, Lawson, Rainey or a few other greats like MM throwing tantrums in the pits like Miller, slapping the tank with the palm of hand like Fabs or sulking like Vinales.

Well of course you agree with me. I'm very agreeable.

Tho, I might take issue with you re: the greats. In those golden days there were not hundreds of invasive media outlets poking their noses in the garages 200 times a minute with long-lens, hi-def video cameras in hopes of catching a rider in a normal vulnerable moment. In the '70s and '80s fans only ever really saw what happened on track or on the podium.

A few more video's recommended to watch on YouTube

This one shows a few of the saves with focus on the Marquez and Besnyder ones
