So it looks like 6 teams have put there hands up to join the MotoGP class for 2012.

They have been told they will be only able to run 1 bike each, and admission to the premiere class will depend on plans they put forward at the end of 2011.

For them to put forward a proposition to join the class i assume they must have some form of agreement with manufacturers to get a bike?

So what do people think,

If all 6 new teams join, will we get 6 new riders?

Will some of the satellite teams with 2 bikes drop 1 to save money?

Who do you think they will get bikes from?

Personally i hope no teams downsize and all 6 teams make it in and the grid grows substantially. Even if these new teams dont challenge at the pointy end straight away, some more battles even for lower positions would be great.

They've been "offered" spots ........ it will be interesting enough to see if any will take it up.

correct i heard commentators talking about it and a deadline, not heard anything about it in the news tho.

there is an article on motoGP.com.

Says that they received too many applications and that from those that applied 6 teams were offered a spot on the grid, those teams being,

BY QUEROSENO RACING

FORWARD RACING

KIEFER RACING

MARC VDS RACING TEAM

PADDOCK GP RACING

SPEED MASTER

Thats 1 cars worth ......... thats not much!!

But hey if it is that cheap to get in ......... sounds promising for the numbers

2012 year of rider's getting lapped. There's no way a CRT bike is going to be competitive against a factory bike. We saw that with the WCM bike back in the early 990 days.

CRT bikes is Dorna the explora's way of getting more bikes on the grid, this is Motogp pinnacle of two-wheel racing not some backyard domestic Series.

Pfft wake up Mr Ezpeleta. . . . . . . . ..

Correct ! Although i think the only non prototype part on the WCM were the crank cases. Lack of money was their problem.

I sense a rare consensus developing here.

I have yet to see an equivalence type rule produce consistently close racing between the two (or more) different types they are trying to balance, and in this case the full on factory teams will never sign up to something that allows the new boys to show them up.

CRT is just plastering over the cracks .

we need to sit back and treat it as a transitional year,2012 is really a `toe in the water`,it`ll get better. Can`t wait ,personally.
