Hi, I'm hoping someone can explain MotoGP regulations regarding production machines to me. They must be prototypes, but can the manufacturer market street bikes from their current prototypes? Case in point would be the Ducati D16RR, but it is the older 990 cc engine.
TIA!
It's only the first race and it was held in pretty extraordinary conditions, but what do folks think of the bikes?
The Ducati seems to be as fast as ever (in Stoner's hands - although I believe Melandri had the highest speed through the trap) but it's speed advantage seems to have been reduced...
If you had the choice of taking any rider to any class/team, who would it be?
As you see a different perspective than the commentators and the mechanics in MotoGP, you see the riders differently because you don't know them. So, if you based it upon true talent, what bike do you think they would...
Hmmm..
It just struck me while looking at the time sheets...

Ok, from allllll the past GP bikes there have been what happens to them including 125 +250. I think I heard last year they auctioned off the Ducati GP6 but you never hear of it.
Anyone care to shed some light?
Thanks, Phil

i mean right now we have 20 bikes
250ccm has more then 20
and 125ccm even more then 30
but there are rumours about a 3rd Kawasaki bike, and maybe a 3rd Ducati in 2008.

This might be as close as Honda comes to admitting they got alot wrong with the current machine. It also might mean they are giving up as far as this year for the satelight teams. It's gonna be a long year for most of the Honda boys. http://www.motorsport.com/news/article.asp...59021&FS=MOTOGP
Me and Tom were having a discussion about this a few nights ago and obviously there were disagreements...but I'd like to see how other people think about it.
Yamaha M1 (990 (2004+))- Deep sounding burble, almost like a V8.

Ok, sounds strange, but the new 800cc bikes to me look more 'wacky' and futuristic. I think it's great. I've never though GP bikes should resemble road bikes.
