Yeah, DMG is calling the shots in all of the national series, just like the AMA used to do when they ran AMA Superbike. Povol, how much longer until you realize this half-baked idea has been dreamed-up by the Japanese?
The Japanese want a national SBK rules that will allow them to prepare one set of homologated race parts they can sell to privateers. They would prefer NOT to use WSBK rules b/c they are skewed in favor of Ducati, and WSBK rules are much more expensive for the factories to subsidize at the national level. Roger went to Japan so he could cut out the North American middle men and get directly to the source. The FIM and Dorna can't even get the manufacturers to cooperate, how do you suppose Roger Edmdonson has become powerful enough to handout edicts.
Yosh aren't fighting DMG, they are fighting the factories. The Japanese want to streamline, but they are not going to pull out of the national series and rely on private racing companies to prototype SBK parts. As with all factory ideas, this one probably originated in the Honda office.
