I agree, that BMW looks brilliant, especially with Leon's aggressive style riding it. It's good to have racing back again, i'm glad i stayed up already. Kawasaki already a disappointment (i guess i shouldn't have expected anything). Biaggi will be tough to beat over a season.

1. Checa

2. Biaggi

3. Haslam

4. Laverty

5. Melandri

6. Fabrizio

7. Smrz

8. Sykes

9. Haga

10. Corser

Laverty pipped Marco at the line. Decent race - but the Ducati in Checa's hands looks unbeatable here. Rea should be in the top 5 but ran it off the road as usual.

Immense finish, 3 across the line side by side, Lowes is a new talent. Scassa wins. Parkes nearly took it!

Good ....!! Lowes is spectacular, can't wait to see more of that. Whitham is an ....., it'd be a much better show if he said less.

Whats with riders getting flat rear tyres? Something isn't quite right there

If only Lowes was on a Ten Kate Honda................. Buckmaster better add the missing HP. The rider did not fail.

Wash your mouth out Thomas

If anyone needs to be quiet it's Jack

Sorry, in the most part i think both of them make a decent show of it. He just pissed me off at the end of the supersport race, i get that he is passionate and wanted the British lad to win (as did i of course) but i thought his comments were pretty disrespectful to Scassa.

I know what you mean Tom, I like Jim but he did seem a bit dismissive of a hard fought win. Either way it was a tremendous race, and I'm Lowes will win a couple this year, maybe more.

Tom, do you watch football? How many times do the pundits say that the better team was robbed by fate, circumstances, bad luck, or bad officiating? Whitham said that Lowes was robbed by a lack of horsepower, and that he felt Lowes rode a better race than Scassa. What's the big deal? Whitham is a former BSB champ who rode underpowered equipment in international competition for years. Of course he's going to identify with Lowes. What disrespect to Scassa? It would be nice if you'd let Whitham say something disrespectful before you grilled him.

As for the racing, SBK was pretty boring, but the Melandri vs. Biaggi dice was nice in race 2. I'm very happy to see Melandri on the podium, b/c SBK needs more people at the sharp end. Ronald Ten Kate must be nervous after this opening weekend. Rea is injured, and Xaus showed absolutely nothing after predicting "new highs" with Castrol Honda. Effenbert Ducati are probably quite upset as well since Guintoli scored DNF, DNS and Smrz only managed 7th, 11th.

Imo, there wasn't a lot of championship caliber riding on display this weekend in SBK. Checa and Biaggi were certainly pros, and Camier had a heroic ride for 6th in race 2, but overall, I expected more guys to find their way to the pointy end.

WSS was the complete opposite of SBK. Lots of guys found race pace, and 7 or 8 of them managed to stay in the slipstream for about half the race. If not for the strange rear tire problems, the finish could have been even more spectacular. Foret was the only slight disappointment b/c I expected him to clear off, but he was mired in 5th or 6th until his tire gave out. I'll be interested to hear what Pirelli have to say about the tires, and I will be interested to see if the grid hits 30 as Whitham predicted when the series returns to Europe.

Foret apperantly had a pretty nasty crash in warm-up that really beat up his hand and apperantly through latest news broke a bone in his spine.

Superbike with the predicted winner, nice for Checa. Melandri also doing well. Biaggi i think is gonna be the man to beat though when we get to tracks that suit the Aprilia. Hope Haga can go with him. SS was awesome, finally the madness returns after the dominant 3 from the last years. really happy for Scassa and Parkes. Lowes is definetly one for the future, pity Davies had to retire.
