well its the truth isn't it

rea is a really hard racer and i don't intend to defend him at all times but i find it laughable to hear hes a dangerous hot head and then in another post i read how much sic is being missed.

i guess my point would be that if he was on a more competitive bike maybe he wouldn't need to race so hard.i know hes ten kates main man but still, look at how he destroyed neukirchner and even checa as teammates.

i hope theres a new fireblade coming up soon or that he considers to finally change team.next years wsbk has the potential to be awesome with riders like melandri, biaggi, checa, spies, rea, sykes, haslam and new guys like guigliano and baz.

if they are able to lure stoner to wsbk , wsbk would be more or less equal in terms of rider talent on the grid and surely ahead in terms of entertainment.i hope he considers it

Somewhat controversially and against the grain - regarding the Rea/Sykes incident - I don't see much difference between the Marquez/Esargaro incident at Catalunya for which the former was destroyed on this forum and almost summarily docked a minute off his time before appeal. Marquez was unsighted as was Sykes - neither were culpable. Rea meantime attempted an admittedly optimistic pass which would have been immortalised and recalled fondly had it have been Sic - like Simoncelli Rea has a reputation for hard racing without endearing the fans that Marco did. At one time WSS became renowned and even loved for far worse moves than this and you can count similar incidents with both hands during practically every Moto 2 race since its inception. Rea is fast becoming the villain of choice for the series. I'm no great fan, and he often does himself no favours - it all seemed to start with his coming together with Haga at Nurburgring in, from memory, 2009.

The outrage on here could be better vented and should continue to be directed at Sofluoglu's appalling antics at Aragon given the lack of a fitting penalty/reprimand.

#1 POS in WSS and the entire world of racing across the planet: Sofluoglu

#1 POS in WSBK: J Rea

Sic is missed because he is dead! But he had plenty of detractors when he was alive.

Despite his often dangerous racing, you sensed that he might get his racecraft together eventually, coupled with a good heart, in addition that we hoped he would mature like the other 250/Moto2 promotees in MotoGP who did turn the corner on prudent racing (at least that was my hope). Yes, certainly Sic was dangerous and was given too much of a pass on it. But then again, when you have the most popular figure in the sport celebrated for moves that have become sport lore and documentaries have show in him a positive light while at the same time villainizing the victim; punting his rival (Jerez05) or sending another on evasive action (Laguna08), then of course you will have a similar situation with other popular riders. Nonetheless, Lorenzo was as dangerous as Sic, and he changed, and that was the hope for Sic. Add to this, Sic had an attractive personality, genuine, and down to earth, where as J, Rea has the personality of a cardboard box. He is becoming a villain as Arrabi said, but its all deserving as he is a POS rider with no regard for his competitors. ....'em!

good post jum, 100% agreed except for your take on rea

hes questionable at times to say the least , and for my liking hes over the top. the only time i think i defended him was when the bmws and him crashed at donington, that just wasn't his fault in my eyes but i don't want to get into an endless debate about that again. you can see that incident from multiple angles.

but what i really don't want is to read his name in the same sentence as sofucklus. rea isn't the same league as lorenzo who matured fast, thats for sure. rea has been that way for a couple of years now

but theres no reason for me to believe that he won't pull himself together like we anticipated with sic late last year.remember sics quotes about other riders needing to go home if they have a problem with his riding?that was already in his second year in motogp.don't get me started about his 250 time.who says that getting mature and safer can't happen with rea, especially now that hes married and all that. i really hope he will pull himself together, he has great potential.

what is without question to me is that given rea matures, he maybe the most talented rider out there in wsbk.
