I hiope Hopper does well but i certainly dont want him taking points from Spies. They are way off times set at the test so im sure that order will change dramatically.I look for Spies to leave with around a 15 point lead after this weekend but i have my fingers crossed. This year, his good fortune has been nullified almost immediatley with some lousy racing luck.

I was needing a fix of WSBK, so last night, i watched 4 races that i had saved on the computer. The Assen race in particular, i can watch it over and over. The run Spies makes with 5 laps to go from 7/10ths down in third is still one of my favorite memories in bike racing. The 3 corner side by side with Haslam for 2nd and the bonzai pass on the last lap of Haga was as good as it gets.

Hopefully not. It depends on his injuries he picked up at Donington. Hopefully he can come back to full strength. If anyone derserves the title its Haga.
He must be well pissed. Gets rid of Bayliss and now he has Spies to contend with.
Spies can wait a year. He dosent need the title in his rookie year. Not unless he's gagging to get to MotoGP.

I had haga as my number one from the first round this year. it really looked like he was flying and leaving dust in the face of spies. he's been on the podium since 2004. so yeah he does deserve it. i feel like haga is way more focused, at least thats how he was until round 9.

can't wait for round brno. if haga goes down again spies has to go down with him for things not to get nasty. or atleast win one of the races to stay slightly ahead.

i forgot to add that however if spies does win the title. i hope he goes to motogp and crushes rossi. we had schumacher in formula 1 winning for 300 years. we don't need another Schumacher in motogp. it get got quiet boring with he won in f1, same as it gets boring when brazil keeps winning.

Thanks for starting the thread Povol, I am soooo glad racing is back. It's going to be a great weekend. Good to see Hopper up there, considering his injury state, but as was said, this is FP1 and these times don't mean much. Biaggi loves Brno, so I expect him to podium this weekend. Spies, well we all know what he can do. Fabrizio will most likely retain his front running form. Hopefully we can get a few others near the front this weekend and have some great racing.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (J708 @ Jul 24 2009, 01:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>it is over for haga?
Is it ever over for Haga is the question? I am a big Haga fan, I want to see him win the title, but I am also happy to see Spies show his talent in his first year. Haga may lose points this round but there are still 8 more races after this weekend. As it stands now there are 250 points up for grabs. This is not even close to being over. I hope it comes down to the last race, and in the end, the best man wins.

Please dont mention schumacher in the same breath as Rossi.
To compare that cocksplash with Rossi's domination just seems wrong.
You can proberbly tell Im not a fan of F1.
I dont care how good people think spies is. He aint gonna crush Rossi.

I like Haga and if he wins the title so be it, but in the words of Clint Eastwood, deserves got nothing to do with it. This is not the Academy Awards where you get a lifetime achievment award as a consolation for almost winning in your career.Spies has been dominant and aside some technical gaffes by his crew, would hold a comfy points lead. But thats racing.Expect the unexpected!

YEah go!!!!!! Except Haga 1st place then those two can finish 2 and 3.

Who wants to bet me Haga will podium several more times this year? This thing aint over!

Hopkins looked good in FP1. Sadly, he is still hurt, a top 10 will b amazing and a goo accomplishment.

Whats going on with Haslam?

Two Kawasakis in top 10? Who put green fairings on a Ducati?

We know Fagbrizio has to go balls to the wall, will he risk it all?

Biaggi so far hasnt won this year, is Brno the Aprillia breakthrough?

Spies, will he play it safe or will we see him win if Haga is down the order?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Bootsakah @ Jul 24 2009, 11:28 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I wonder if Biaggi will win a race this weekend...........

.......... nah.

This is a track he has won a bunch of races on and from what i read, the Aprilia WSBK test track. He stated before the weekend started that the testing time he has on this track should give them a leg up on the field. We will see, Spies is a fast learner

Maybe its contract time...

I hope this competition at the top continues for the rest of the season, after the last race i was worried Spies would dominate the remaining rounds. I'm a fan of his but i prefer closer racing

Rea continues to dissappoint. He can't seem to get into a good rythm.
Spies in 5th, I think that is the lowest he has ever been in practice.
Sykes - They tell you they want to keep you and you go backwards??
Tamada - must have used one of his qualifiers
<

Checa - Are you in win it or bin it mode
Biaggi - If you can make the same lap times throughout the race you have a shot.
BMW -
<
'
Stiggy Honda - Wonder how Haslem is going to feel when Hopper starts beating him
<

Haga - Not looking good, but we all know you bring it on raceday.
