WSBK Brno practice and qualifying

Awesome couple of races!

Once again WSBK is showing the world why it is the current 'premier' class of 'racing'.......

The aprilia is fast, but not as fast in comparison as it use to be, Marco looking very good finally on a competitive machine

Marco looks like a guy who knows how to race motorcycles. Isn't that peculiar? Marco was unceremoniously whisked from MotoGP after being told he was probably mentally ill or at the very least without adequate talent. Now we see him pushing the front and sliding the rear of his Yam routinely, all while looking quite hungry and competitive. What a shame. It illustrates just how far the new era GP bikes have drifted from convention.

I enjoyed both races. I was pleased to see Carlos podium and look as strong and solid as he did. That's ominous for the field. This was supposed to a weekend for both Yam's and both Aprilia's but instead, Carlos managed to take two podiums while actually challenging for 2nd. Watching Carlos closely, he looks completely sorted and comfortable on the bike. No question he's down on power but his stability on long corners and under heavy breaking is obvious to see. I think he'll still bag this title....

If close racing makes a series the premier racing class of racing, DSB is the best series in the world right now. They have five bikes who can win with a last lap pass on a regular basis. I have even seen a guy running 5th with 2-3 laps to go win.

couldn't agree more

For real. Let's hope Biaggi and Melandri can both keep Checa behind them. Season needs a bit of spice.

They certainly did so....

Melandri was just flying during the first race and the slides were great to watch.... I do not know what changes Biaggi did to his bike after the first race, but he certainly managed to keep Melandri at bay. Anyway, Marco's rear tyre looked very bad on the right side.....I believe it was due to the high temperatures..or to a wrong setup. Biaggi's tyre looked pretty good.

BMW hav a bit of Ducati syndrome.

That might be because thay have bought a load of the old factory Ducati structure and hired a load of its employees, then let the BMW engineers try to force their in-house electronics into the development program.

Not really, if you take an excellent rider and move him to a series where all of the better riders aren't racing, he's gonna look pretty damn good. That effect is only inreased by the rejuvenation that most riders get with an opportunity to be competitive once more. Look at Hopper or Shakey Byrne for other good examples of the same
