Bla bla bla, see what I mean about Mr. Diplomatic? Why you defending Graves you clown. Hahaha That's why I wouldn't be a good candidate for team spokesman.

Anyway, check out this vid of the kart races before the WSBK/AMA event (of which Benny should have been part of).

Come on Honda, get this lad on a factory bike in a decent series ffs.

Racing can really be a gut wrenching sport. Benny crashed, twice actually. DNF. He's ok. Medical checked him out and hes fine, which is the only important thing. I guess that's why they line up, nothing is certain in this sport. Agony and Ecstasy, right? The next race is in Wisconsin, June 3-5.

I tuned into the Indy 500, and the kid that was leading with a sizable gap, a rookie no less, crashed on the last turn. His car destroyed actually crossed the finish line in 2nd. That's racing. But like I said, when it comes down to it, if you walk away, its all good.

Lots of build up to this race, but when it goes wrong, the bottom line perspective is what counts. Benny rides with two patches on his leathers, one for Peter Lenz and the other for Toriano Wilson, both kids, both friends of Benny, and both killed in racing. Its a reminder to all of us that racing is dangerous and when crashes happen, walking away is what matters.

As far as the championship, its still a good situation. Benny is sitting near top in points (I guess Roger worked it out, I was too gutted to even think about points).

Congrats to Corey and the rest of the podium. They kept it on two wheels.

You forgot to add Sergio Perez's crash this weekend in F1 not a good weekend points wise but as long as everyone goes home in one piece that's what matters! They're will more races more championships and more points in the future!

Let me know if Benny and the boys are looking for any restaurants in the area.

Give me a recommendation, I'll pass it along. BTW, what's the weather like around this part of the year?

CK and I have shown up to several races this year, and every time we've gone, the guy we are rooting for wins. Thats no BS. Even his girlfriend has been impressed (seems she doesn't have much to be impressed about sometimes). So anyway, I blame CK and myself for not showing up to Miller.

It was a bad weekend for all our boys, Benny Solis, Fernando Amantini, Bryce Prince, Tyler Odom, Sergio Perez, Chicarito, all had a weekend to forget. But then again, they all walked away, so its all good.

Jhonny I just have a GF temporarily, I'm waiting to get my hands on you big boy

jumkie says I'm gay because I let him blow me one time when I was drunk!

Sorry to see Benny had a rough weekend. Hopefully, he can bounce back during the next West rounds.

In other news, I'm shocked to see that Young has won the SBK race. Stupid SpeedTV hasn't been working since the storms so I'll have to wait til it hits the underground to see it. I don't know why, but I never really think of Young as a serious contender. I'm happy to say that he is developing into a good rider.

P.S. I grow weary of the AMA bonus points scoring system. I've never really liked it, but it is particularly annoying ATM. Hayes still leads the championship even though he trails Young 3 wins to 1. Bonus points for pole and fastest lap of kept Hayes in the lead.

I hope Benny wont mind me posting this but this is what he had to say afterwards.

So I learned a lot today, my race didn't go like I would like (having 2 crashes in one race) but for sure I learned some stuff that will benefit me for next weekends race at Road America! Can't wait

What a great attitude from a young man. No whining, no excuses just down to business

There's a place a couple miles outside of town called Dutch's. It used to be called Bruce's when I used to go, but from what I understand, it's still the same place. Admittedly, I haven't been in at least three years now, but last time I was there, you could get a good cut of meat or fish or pasta or whatever you like. There's also a place right in downtown Elkhart Lake called Gesserts. It's this old, 1950s style malt shop. I feel odd inside and I'm from the Midwest, it would probably be like stepping into the Twilight Zone coming from California. But it's great ice cream. But it's across the street from Siebkins, Elkhart's Canary Row.

Weather is always a gamble in early June. Generally, you can expect temperatures in the mid-70s, but you never know. I've been there and it's been in the 90s, and I was there in 2005 when they called the race because it was raining too much. But yeah, generally temperatures in the mid-70s. Let me know if you guys need any other advice. Also, and I suppose this goes for driving near any race circuit, but don't speed. Cops just sit and wait all race weekend.

I was thinking that he probabaly hasnt run too much in the rain so his comments reflected that he did learn some things.

I was also trying to recall a time when the pole sitter of a race was 4 seconds a lap faster than his competition and I could come up with nothing.

Roger thats one of the things that impressed me the most about Benny. I saw him crash after driving 3000 miles to Daytona and never saw him get down or pissed off. The kids mature beyond his years and hes got a great support system with his Dad and family

Thanks for the heads up. I enjoyed the interview, especially the shoutout to Jumkie at the end
<

Haha, it totally caught me for surprise too.

May I say, these guys who interview racers, they need to step up their game and do some homework. Its was like an interview from some guys on the street. They didn't seem to know much about him. I mean, this isn't TV, its "radio", how about having some notes on the kid?

Anyway, I shouldn't be to harsh, he answered all their questions pretty well I thought considering he was at some truck stop in the middle of nowhere.
