who cares if the general layout is similar to brands, its a fantastic circuit in its own right. id say politics definitely had a say in its undoing with motogp.

yeah, thats the place, a good track too. The riders often complained about the excessive amount of bumps there (remember Stoner's massive crash when he was a 250cc rookie). But i wouldn't be surprised if it was actually dropped because of money and politics, the crowds were never too big.

i bet the crowds there were bigger than those in qatar though!
the track is ok but there are better tracks on the calendar at the moment so cant see it ever coming back.
Because Welkom 2004 will for ever remain imprinted in everyone's memory as Valentino's memorable and historical triumph over the Big Evil Honda Corporation. And Honda aren't having any of it. Ever again.

Lack of originality...you mean like Sepang and Shang Hai? Or how about Mugello and Brno? Two of these four tracks I have mentioned lack originality.

I was actually just having a joke because i have always been amused by the resemblance to brands hatch, I don't seriously think they would drop the circuit for that reason. I always thought it was a pretty kool track!
