Its quite simple. If you study history, you will find that a hell of a lot of non aboriginal Aussies are descended from British convicts.

Some of you may have noticed that it rains a lot over here, therefore...

Their ancestors spent their time running from the (a) Rozzers (

Polis © Bizzies (depending on what part of the UK they were "jailed" from) and this ability to escape from the law in wet weather makes them naturals.

If Rossi was to paint his bike like a UK traffic bike, Stoner would break every lap record in the diary!

Aussies in GP = 3, Brits = ? Ouch! Even Toselands gonna be held back in SBK by Honda, just like every other Brit (Fogarty?) Brits are SBK champs at BEST hahah ...

....for not knowing anything about Australian weather
<
or Australia....hehehehe... Australia is the driest continent on earth, there are some spots on this continent where it hasn’t rained for 5-8 years, the rainfall here is about ¼ of the rainfall that the UK or Europe, your history might be to some extent (10%) correct but the convicts have given our culture and attitude that mongrel fight to the end never say die, we don’t like to be beaten specially by the Brits or anybody, secondly our boys are dirt bike specialists, bull dust, mud, hard terrain etc. We have 100 of thousands of square kilometres of it to practice on. After all that they become hard core gladiators who are ready for the fight to the top....this is from a very early age where they have streamlined there riding abilities for the fight to top.

We consider wet weather racing the ultimate ability to riding and driving, you have to have balls to race fast in the wet...may be the boys in Europe just don’t have it?
<
And I know for a fact that in the USA when it rains they stop all form of racing, specially motorcycling, the SB’s?

<
there good in the rain now for the same reason dani can now ride in the wet....its called TRACTION CONTROL. switch it off then we can talk about who's a real rain meister.

hahaha ... can i spoil the party?

my answer/theory: Its derived from the dirt-track. Majority of Aussie riders grew up with at LEAST a small component of riding on the dirt... so to put simply, they are quite comfortable and happy to let the rear slide around whereas purebred roadracers like their traction.
Other strong contenders in the wet? Hayden, Hopkins etcerrarrrrr and ride on the dirt as well.

"This bike feels so good when it’s sliding and spinning but I’ve no idea why I can do this in the wet. In Australia I never raced in the wet but it could come from dirt track racing."

Just to lighten the mood a little heres a joke i heard the other day from my mate;

An ugly biker walks into his local pub with a big grin on his face.
"What are you so happy about?" asks the barman.
"Well, I'll tell you," replies the ugly man. "You know, I live by the railway. Well, on my way home last night, I noticed a young woman tied to the tracks, like in the movies. I, of course, went and cut her free and took her back to my place. Anyway, to make a long story short, I scored big time!
We made love all night, all over the house. "Fantastic!" exclaimed the barman. "You lucky guy.
Was she pretty?" .."Dunno...Never found the head."

Cheers
