Who else would be curious to see James Stewart in MotoGP?

Don't follow MX/SX much huh? Stewart has never beat Carmichael in any series he ever ran since 05.

Why do you say that he is?
he says it cause stewart did not do the 07 season thru injury from the outdoor mx season. reed didn't have any serious competition. but still he was the 07 champ fair & square.

And who did RC beat all those years he was winning championships.
A bunch of nobody's.
My point was that if RC had Stewart as a competitor than he wouldn't have won as many championships or races.
I think anyone who watches MX knows that these are the 2 best riders ever and that if their entire careers were spent racing each other than the results would be pretty mixed.

Honestly, I can see Stewart doing well onroad. It's all about confidence. Nicky Hayden is no slouch on a MX/Supermoto bike. Not sure if either would do well at the top level but it would be nice to see them try.

Well, RC beat JS 4 years in a row in the outdoor series, and 3 out of 4 years in the SX series. So.... I 'd say RC dominated James and one of those outdoor titles he beat Stewie every race. Undefeated season against Stewart. That is domination.

I think David Knight could make the switch. Hes a bit big mind... But i reckon he would be the best bet. Well known as the best off road pilot in the world !

I f James Stewart was soooo great he would not be getting hurt as much as he has in the past to.

I didn't mean to write it in a presumptuous sort of way, which seems the way that people here took it. I was just wondering to what degree his talent could translate into road racing.
my response was only meant to say that there is no way that he'd be able to compete with the upper echelon riders. streetbikes and dirtbikes are completely opposite (as you know).
I believe it's much easier to transition from dirtbikes to cars (as we've seen with the likes of wardy).
You'd have to relearn much of what you know from mx to gp's.
At least in switch to cars, you don't have to relearn tecniques, which I think is more difficult than starting from scratch as say the move from cars would be

That's how I saw it, Reed has beaten him in any number of SX races and vice versa.

Make no mistake, he is bloody good, but a championship is a championship...

And you of all people should have some appreciation for supermoto champs who are pretty handy with a road racer,eh. Do you think Jeff might be pretty hand with a roadracer if he tried?
Wardy was testing an FX CBR600RR with Erion Honda before 2006 or 2007, can't remember now. The plan was that he would run the Daytona 200. I don't recall what his times were like but considering he didn't race I would assume that he wasn't too competitive. Or he was just too old and tired.

Mladin is the only one I can think about off the top of my head but I know there are a few more.
Colin Edwards.

Isn't Johnny Rhea a convert as well?

That sounds familiar but I haven't followed his career too closely.
