Well we may get a Ducati on the podium, at very least a good Ducati battle between DePuniet, Rossi, Hayden.

I must say, Dovi doesn't look comfortable. I feel for the dude.

Kevin Schwantz to ride Marco Simoncelli's RC212V during a lap of honour by riders from all three classes at Valencia - followed by a two-minute firecracker display.

The MotoGP community has been paying tribute to Marco Simoncelli throughout this weekend's Valencia season finale - and race day morning will see a further special tribute to the former 250cc world champion.

At 10.10am local time (so 9.10 am UK Time Eurosport.BBC Coverage dont start until after that )

on Sunday, riders from all three World Championship classes have been invited to depart from Pit Lane as a group, and complete a lap of the track in honour of Simoncelli.

The procession will be led by Simoncelli's San Carlo Honda Gresini RC212V MotoGP bike, which will be ridden by 1993 world champion Kevin Schwantz, a friend of the late Italian.

The riders will stop just short of the finish line, with local authorities and representatives of MotoGP's governing bodies (Dorna, IRTA and the FIM) congregating on the other side of the finish line alongside Simoncelli's family and members of the Gresini team.

Paddock members will also be present on track.

Once the bikes have taken up their positions on the start/finish straight a two-minute Valencian Mascletà (a traditional firecracker display) will take place.

Nice tribute. I think the Schwantz part is a bit odd though. I would rather see Marco's bike all alone on the start finish line. Still a very nice tribute with that and the 58 seconds of chaos.

I dont have the mgp.com package so I will miss it. If anyone records it and can put it on youtube that would be great. Hopefully Dorna has enough sense to leave it up.

I was originally torn about if they should run this race at all. I'm now glad that they decided to go on. This gives everyone an opportunity to be together and perhaps gain some sembelance of closure. Ending the season would have seemed a bit of a cliffhanger.

Glad to see the 800's gone. GP has definitely gone downhill since this formula has come about. That shouldnt be the case. There's more great riders on the grid now than any time in history.

Tonight I'll raise my glass and toast to the twilight of a bygone era and to the memory of a fallen rider.

Goodnight 800's

Bring on the 1000's
