Been following it all race and was not going to post purely to avoid putting the curse of the little fat man upon him, but great result as Toby Price becomes the first Australian winner in any category of Dakar as he takes out the bikes by near 40 minutes

Sensational effort

Dakar Rally: Toby Price wins motorcycle division in Australia's first-ever triumph - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

And in the race that marks the 10th anniversary of the passing of Andy Caldecott just brings a small tear

You bloody beauty!!! Such a tough race.
Every competitor has guts.
I am gobsmacked it has been ten years since Andy's death.

Congrats big time to Toby.
But have to say it's the Marathon (?) class that really impresses me in Dakar

Should also add a big congrats to Jurgen van der Goorbergh (yes, the same JvdG of Grands Prix rides) who won his section/classification of the bike section

He's as hard as nails. It's kinda unbelievable. I didn't think he'd finish, let alone roll in first place.

Same.

And to make up the 8 or 9 minutes on the 3rd last stage I think it was (maybe 4th last) to go from 3rd to 1st.

Bloody awesome, even if he now has less hair after his bet with Laia Sainz
