Interesting, but not altogether suprizing is it?
This has been the pattern with Valentino over recent years, in fact has it not been the pattern throughout his career, to belittle and attempt to embarrass his greatest rivals. Is this not part of gaining the psychological edge, something I feel has been Vale's finest asset, and instrumental in so many world titles.
The thing is, will it work on an Aussie??? I doubt it will work on Casey, and we should look forward to a 2008 season where many riders will believe they have a realistic chance of taking the title, without any hype!

Yeah Burky ... cant see it working on Casey! In fact, sounds like it has been building for a while ... more credit to Casey for not taking it to heart and even after what has happened this year, still big enough to say great things about Valentino! I think the new wave of talented young riders show respect but really don't fear him!

....and I think that's the difference. Indeed, I think now they relish the opportunity!

I think stoner is not above playing a few psychological games himself, and these comments were preceded by thinly veiled criticism of rossi in the australian press by casey concerning the possible change in the tyre regulations, so I am not surprised valentino was not feeling all warm and fuzzy.

I have no problem with them both being competitive and following their own interests. I think stoner and the other younger riders should remember that the level of kudos (and monetary reward) which currently results from motogp success are largely due to rossi's deeds and charisma, although to be fair I think winning is far more important than money to him.

I thought i saw them playing "foose-ball" (that table soccer ....) at Motegi, they seemed to be getting on quite amicably then :?

....so perhaps it's more a case of Casey knowing how to play the game. (I mean the PR game, not table soccer .....!)

spot on mate, all part of the sport.

i tend not to take to much notice of these kind of articals. we have seen before how the media will turn a petty thing like this and turn it in to a soap opera.

Looks like more made up bollocks to me.

more than likely

I think it's utter crap. The guys were fooling around and playing table soccer and billiards on the Saturday after qualifying in Japan. And Rossi was full of laughs about it when they interviewed him. Stoner's never had a word to say against Rossi that I know of, which makes him a classy star in my opinion. And when Casey took the championship Rossi was commenting since casey considers him one of his heroes it didn't feel that bad at all. He has openly stated that he considers Casey to be his biggest rival, but he said it as a compliment rather than a snub. At the end of the day it's the australian gp and these people want to make some 'news'.
Anyway, Casey will never ever be a Biaggi, even though the media would probably relish a rivalry on that scale to get their hands into, and are probably doing their best to fuel it, it's just don't think it's going to happen.

more media rubish...

that doesn't say anything...media trying to start .... where there isn't...take it with a grain of salt.

yeah im with you what a crock of crap i seen another story to the heading says Stoner annoyed by Rossi.
sorry but everyone says rossi whinges........ quote:

"I actually spoke to him this year and basically told him that I don't want it to end up like he did with Sete or Max Biaggi," Stoner said. "Unfortunately, he hasn't really spoken to me in a while now and seems to be throwing in a few comments that I'm not so happy with"

well everytime i have seen rossi with stoner hes always smiling and talking with him so.....

i know stoner deserves the championship this year but how do you guys think he would of done with pressure from riders like biaggi or sete if they were still in motogp???

i havent mentioned rossi cos his bike was shat this year.
