They were only last on a few occasions, if I recall Ginters had a fourth in Japan, which imo is a better result than Toselands due to inferior bike and rubber. Also Ginters qualified well in few races but was let down by the wet tyres in the race ie Donnington.
Back on topic Edwards was touted at the start of the season to go to AMA for 2009 and run away with the champsionship with the all singing dancing new R1. He was happy to do this as he wanted to go back to the USA anyway. Alas like Elias with a few good results they decide he's good enough for another year. So it's no real surprise the rumour mill has started with this, however Edwards won't leave motogp without a fight, ie a big payout. It would take a lot to persuade him to go back to WSBK when he has no real interest in it. So I can't see the switch happening this season, due to Yam already spending a lot in the salary department. However I would expect to see Spies in a Motogp team for 2010.
