Oh really
What else could that truly mean.
I read your transparent post and immediatelly thought the same thing.

I can't watch this race for at least another day and I don't want to know any
detail about it.
PLEASE PEOPLE STOP POSTING SPOILERS AND INNEUNDOS IN THEIR IMPROPER
THREADS.

hmmm. could be. ?
maybe use a password protected thread for members only. to read the links then guests cant see them

of course a member could be associated with dorkna, but cant see that its too time consuming to be active here daily etc just looking for links and justin and other places are well known for streaming content anyway

ummm and who pays for everything? god?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pinky @ May 17 2009, 12:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>ummm and who pays for everything? god?
Dorna wanted to bring it to the masses for<u> FREE</u> which is why they gave the contract to the BBC. Try reading the posts before you quote and reply, that way we don't need to keep repeating ourselves.

Do Dorna say they will broadcast it free?

Can't see why they would do that? It must cost a pretty penny to set up to distribute as they do.

Free to air channels buy the rights to broadcast ( eg. BBC and TEN ) so to get their value from the product they then present it to us in a way they can make a profit from. Thats why most businesses and endeavours are run. So if they have to compete with other forms of media presenting it for free, then they would lose customers and would have to pull out of presenting Mgp.

Free to air is why we get it free, whether government financed ( eg. BBC .... comes out of everyone in the UK's pocket ) or ( eg. TEN Australia ..... financed by ads. )

Do you really believe Dorna do it for nothing? or their paying customers do it out of having "a big heart"?

Pinky is right ..... Rog, ..... someone pays for it ..... in the end its either, eg. everyone in the UK, or the viewer who buys the goods that the commercial channels advertise.

Edit: Do you get it free from the BBC Rog. ? ie. do you not pay any tax?

im not saying dorna are doing it for free, im saying we get it for free on tv. well not totally free as we have to buy a tv licence that pays for bbc as you say but we have to pay that regardless. If it were on eurosport we have to pay extra for that and normally that means buying a tv package from company's like sky at a significant cost per month. How much dorna get from the bbc for tv rights i have know idea but when it switched from eurosport to bbc ezy said it was to bring motogp to the masses for free meaning they didnt have to buy tv packages.

To clarify about british TV licences. We have to buy a licence every year. We have to buy this because we own a tv set even it we are not going to watch bbc channels. The bbc get this money. If we pay for sat tv from sky or cable from virgin media we still need a tv licence because we still own a tv set, but now we pay sky or virgin for there channels.

You say pinky is right , all pinky said was
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>ummm and who pays for everything? god?

So he wasn't right, he just missed my point. never did i suggest dorna did anything for free in my posts !

no you missed his point ........ when Pinky said
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pinky @ May 17 2009, 09:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>ummm and who pays for everything? god?

its pretty clearly a satirical, and very vaguely cryptic, way of saying ...... that it is being paid for somehow, by "someone" ...... ie. its not free.

and you clearly said:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (roger-m @ May 17 2009, 08:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Dorna are ......s. They say they want the sport bought to the masses for free,

are you suggesting Pinky actually believes a God is paying for it?

in the end when a live feed pops up ........ make the most of it ........ cos its not going to be long till its shut down by youtube, after request by Dorna. As I believe Youtube even understand the nature of costs of producing such telecasts, and seem to respect that. I daresay Motogp have a negotiated subscription to youtube and hence must have some form agreement about what non-endorsed content that youtube should allow.

What a load... A suitably low-res version (say like justin.tv) in NO WAY competes with or has an overlapping audience with broadcast/cable/satellite TV. Letting some low-res pirate web feeds happen is also an excellent marketing tool. It targets hardcore fans who are forced to feed their addiction via the web when they can't sit in front of the big screen. These are the evangelists of our sport whose rants in pubs, at work and to their kids bring in the new blood which is Dornob's goal. It also targets broad spectrum of the younger demographic, the web savvy gen Xers could be lifelong contributors to Dormat's coffers.

Well tell that to Dorna and Youtube then! ..... cos it seems they disagree with you and since its their game, have a tiny monopoly on it

Same here buts its pretty minimal stuff .... in reality its just a "taster" to get us folks to fork out for the paying type fuller coverage ...... me .... I'm not tempted, Channel 10 here do an ok job by me by repackaging their Mgp product to me. Mind you I'm a bit of a dead loss with helping them pay, I don't buy much stuff they put out on there ad.s
