Dont Know
This year is shaping up as one of the best. So rather than asking which rider is going to win, or who is the GOAT, what would be people's favourite year of racing, their GOAT year of motogp?

My favourite, which I watched at the age of 17 while squeezing zits, was 1991. It was the year I had my first registered bike, a Yamaha XT250. I put on new handlebars and road tires (it was a dirt bike) and tried to copy Doohan through the Sydney national park road. Needless to say I crashed and broke my hand.

As an Aussie the obvious thing to say is Stoner could be the next Doohan.

But Pedrosa reminds me of Gardner - fast but lots of injuries.

Lorenzo - ??????????

Rossi - ????????

Will 1991 ever be bettered? A genuine 3 way fight for the championship. A 4 way fight would be better. I say its getting very close.

Can`t really add to that myself, except I agree that Casey is developing the same work ethic as Doohan on the bike, which means it`ll only get better.

'83 - 12 races, 6 wins for Spencer, 6 wins for Roberts, decided by 2 points at the final round.

By far the best in my eyes. One guy on a more powerful but ill-handling bike (Roberts), one on a nimble but slower bike. It was great. Mamola, Lawson and Katayama all rode exceptionally well that year.
