Good for Herve, he beat Yamaha yo the punch . He has an exciting new deal that will be announced soon, says he got the one thing he has been seeking since he joined the circus. Any speculation on what that might be.

My thoughts too, glad he jumped before he was pushed. My bet is Suzuki, unless he has agreed to run KTMs with the proviso thst he uses academy riders.

Balls - I made a duplicate post seconds after this one :)

Wow - So it's happening them!

Herve says that he was made an offer for 2019 that he couldn't turn down.

"To summarize 20 years of an incredible partnership between Tech3 and Yamaha in a few words is a very difficult mission. Since I first met Mr. Iio in 1998, where he gave me the opportunity to join Yamaha Motor Corporation, it has been an extraordinary journey together. All I remember are fantastic memories, great results, an awesome atmosphere and astonishing feelings we shared with the Yamaha family, which will always be in my mind and in my heart. Clearly, to end that kind of partnership is a big decision for me. All I want to say is more than a huge thank you to Yamaha, to Mr. Tsuji, Mr. Tsuya, Mr. Jarvis and Mr. Nakajima, plus all the guys that have been supporting and helping us.

Tech3 is a small company, which has to think about the future and has to weigh the different options. We’ve been offered a deal, that includes something we’ve been waiting for almost since we started with Tech3 and I couldn’t say no. But obviously, we are the Monster Yamaha Team until the last lap of the Valencia GP 2018. Johann Zarco and Hafizh Syahrin will be fighting for top positions and without a doubt, Yamaha can count on us to be a loyal performant partner.

One more time a huge thank you for Yamaha’s support. I hope they can carry on and have the success they deserve and eventually find a partner to replace Tech3"

Who do we think they are going with - KTM?

And what are Yamaha going to do - I think 2019 is going to be too early for the VR46 team to move up to the big class...
Can they run without a Satelite team?

Its ok Ive got that all figured out .... the rectification is outlined on you thread ..... oh bugger it! This is too hard!

Most probably KTM and he will get at least one full factory bike like with Pramac/ LCR.

Good for Herve and Tech Twa. They deserve a shot at being more than a 2nd tier team for Yamaha. I 'm still running with the rumor that Redbull and KTM are preparing to make Marc an offer he cannot refuse. An offer that makes JLo's look like pocket change.

J.Lo will probably only have pocket change in 2019 :spin:

**Uh Oh here comes the cavalry**

Right now I don’t think MM will go anywhere as he is chasing titles and that simply isn’t going to happen at KTM in the next 2 -3 years if ever. Honda will give Marquez around 15 million per may be 20 if he demands it.

As stupid as it all sounds, but I wonder with regards to MM moving to another brand as to what would need to fall into place.

I strongly suspect that Rossi would need to be gone (retired) as, despite all the public utterances I believe that there is still hatred and animosity from years past. Plus, I feel that MM wants to get 9 titles before he goes, which leaves a number of years as I do not think KTM would be ready for a few years yet.

Maybe as a retirement, who knows but having typed all that I also expect that HRC would move heave, earth and the damn solar system to keep the kid until they feel that a successor is there ............... or the old Alberto returns and kicks him

If Marquez wins again this year, I would think there's a high probability he will look for options elsewhere.

He comes across as a guy who values competition more than money. Sure, money is great, but the challenge is what makes the money worthwhile. If he feels that winning on the Honda is not a challenge for him anymore, he just might jump ship.

...and in the worst case, if it doesn't work out, I am sure Honda would move heaven and earth to take him back.

Maybe against the current field, but few years back he veto-ed Stoner when Pedrosa was injured and he (Stoner) offered to replace him for COTA.

Yeah, I know that.
Marquez in his early years was... for the lack of a better term, a colossal prick. Having Alzamora in his ear didn't help much either.

He still is sort of one, but now he has the results to back him up.

I think it could happen. This could be his "ducati" moment. Why do all the top riders end up going there? For money? To prove something? Well ktm has that plus they have .... tons of money. I also think the move to bring Puig to honda could be telling of hondas future plans. Thats not a move to help Marc thats for sure.
