It was Haga. If anyone cares Ben Bostrom took a 20th and 18th starting from 27th. What happened to the guy who took 5 wins in a row in 2001??

His honda is too underdeveloped, watch out at the end of the year tho, ive got a feeling he'll do well.

It could be that or it could be the tires. He really needs a lot of faith in his tires to perform. I hope you're right Ron, since his sensational 2001 season his only wins have come at Laguna Seca. 1 in Superbike and 1 in Formula Xtreme, both in 2004.

He deserve to be at the top.

He is hungry tho, i read an article(interview) which said he had some "unfinished business" in WSB...

Yeah I read an interview with him about that, he said the same thing when he signed for American Honda in 2003. He said it was only temporary until he could get back to the world stage because of that "unfinished business". I would feel the same way though, he couldn't get it done in 2001 (If I remember right didn't he injure himself in May and missed a round and a half? If so the championship table could have been a bit different in 2001) and then in 2002 he was next to laughed at and you could blame it on Ben, on Dunlops poor development, on Michelins dramatic improvement, or the 998 set up flaws with Dunlops. Ben doesn't make excuses and I think that's why there is the "unfinished business", he puts the blame for that bad year and his two mediocre years in AMA on himself. Hopefully once he gets the new CBR and Pirellis sorted out he can prove to everyone that his 2001 was no flash in the pan. I certainly hope to see it.

So do i. Also i would say that the pirellis act more like the Dunlops then the Michelins, which would seem to suit BB's ragged style.

I feel that even if his Honda gained more power thro development this year he could be at the front. Did'nt he finish 6th at Valencia? one of his fav tracks?
If the WSB circus went to laguna this year i reckon he could win on his Honda, as it is at the mo if he got a good setup.

I was thinking the exact same thing, Pirellis are similar to Dunlop in that they slide so much. However it is apparent they slide much more than the 'Lops. I've read some of Ben's articles in Road Racer X and he says that he has never ridden a bike with the rear end situated so low. Just to keep weight on the rear tire to reduce spinning. I've also heard side grip is frighteningly bad. As I recalled Ben didn't even like Valencia particularly, maybe I'm wrong about that though, so a 6th was impressive. I'm surprised he didn't do well at Misano, he loves that track because of all the left turns. If they were to go to Laguna it would be a very good race as there is no one faster around the place than Ben, but take into account his unframiliarity with the tires and Corser's adaption to the Pirellis and the fact Troy can go very fast there too. It would be good. All in all I hope Ben can start to see some results at the end of the season and get a full winters worth of testing and hope for the best and a fresh start in 2006.

Yeah it would be good to see him back on a Duc. I miss the L&M 996 alot, what a pretty looking bike. But the odds of Ben returning to Corse are slim to none... even if he does have good ties with all the right people there.

One of the nicest paint schemes ever. Especially with one red wheel and one blue.

I might start a thread about livery actually.
