I really don't like to bash these guys because they're from Minnesota and seem to be pretty well received around the racing scene based on the interviews they get. But they never seem to check their facts or ID riders properly.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>2005: Ducati wins first MotoGP race.
Soup's MotoGP timeline. Ducati's first MotoGP win came in Catalunya in 2003.
Picture of Blake Holden and ID'd as Neil Hodgson. Hodgson wears Speed & Strength leathers and AGV helmets now. Looks to me like the rider in this picture is wearing Dainese leathers and Shoei helmets. Strange that Hodgson's replacement, Blake Holden, also happens to wear Dainese and Shoei. But the bike says 100 on it, has to be The Hodge.
Usually you can spot one rider ID mistake in about every three batches of photographs. Check out Michael Barnes is ID'd as Danny Eslick. Not even the same number. To be fair, they corrected it on the thumbnail page, but it shouldn't have even been published like that.
Be sure to check out the story on Shakey Byrne Joins Athena Ducati. Are we sure it's not Althea Ducati?
Sorry to rant, I just don't get how these guys are so legit and miss so many mistakes? Honestly, if I, a 23 year-old know-nothing, can figure this stuff out, why can't the guys who are at all the races and talking to all the guys in the scene? Somebody explain this to me before my mind explodes.
