Stoner Speaks out on new tire rules

I agree, i don't see how they're going to be able to make enough tyres for everyone, just think about it, 20 tyres per bike + wets, x 18 bikes (this years grid). what's going to happen when the races are back to back, that's a lot of tyres for 1 firm to produce.
However if the tyres aren't as good then the real riders will start to shine, tyre management will become paramount.

It's also rather funny how he follows it up with, of course we would have no problem with it but other teams would. If that is true then why would he not go for it. What's with these riders that want everything to be fair all the sudden

Last and final thought: All tires will be supplied free of charge? WTF?
As has been said before, I think the way the bikes are at present the new tyre rule is unlikely to help stoner and ducati, and will help rossi. Even leaving aside rossi's riding ability and demonstrated career long pre-tc capacity to preserve tyres, the yamaha certainly to me seems to be the most stable and best handling bike, and hence less dependent on tyre quality. Ducati ain't stupid though, so hopefully for stoner (and hayden) they have anticipated the new tyre rule in the design of the carbon-fibre GP09.

The current rules are 40 dry + unlimited wet per rider, are they not? 13 of those 18 bikes are on Bridgestone rubber already. Also, with limited testing they're not necessarily going to be revising throughout the year so the back to back race time constraint doesn't really matter. It's less of a load than bridgestone is already shouldering.

He's just putting on a show for you guys, if anything he should of kept his mouth shut cuz anything out of his mouth is considered whining. Now Rossi on the other hand should be the one to advocate the safety of tires, more tire choices, etcc.... not Stoner.

I'm Australian and a Stoner fan, if you check it I've always had myself out there as a JT and Hayden fan as well (has never changed from day 1), which is why Phillip Island was such a buzz this year.

I like Valentino and think he is the goat and all of that but I would place him maybe 5th of my list of riders (that I like). I admit he lost me a little with off track politics.

Being Australian and growing up in a sport driven environment we were taught long ago that the game is more important than the players. "For the love of the game" is part of our ethos and if that makes me a bad Stoner fan then I am.

I am a race fan first, Stoner Hayden Toseland fan second. I am not even a parochial Aussie who worships the other Aussies, I like them, but CV needs to stop sounding like a government policy man (never offends) and Westy needs to go to WSS.

I do want you however (in order to engage in a proper debate) define what a good Stoner fan and include sources where possible.

At least using the proper argument method of antecedent - inference - conclusion come up with something more than the "piece of ...." thing because I have this personal policy of not arguing with idiots because they drag you down to their level and thrash you with experience.

So devoid of the preposition ad hominem insults (me = a piece of .... – you = pinky) show me the guiding light of your intellect and convince that a Stoner fan has a set of characteristics and define those.

I await your response.

Settle down there Sybil!

Ok, so I totally disagree with the single supplier rule to start with and now the ridiculous other impositions make it even worse so I have to ask.

Gven there are no Q tyres, why even have a Q session?

Why not have FP1/FP2 on Friday which are 'acclimatising' sessions than have FP3/FP4 on Saturday. The quickest time from FP3/FP4 will become the riders Q time.

Garry

We still have to give the riders a qualifying session to up their game, i say it will be a good thing as those laps done on qualifiers are in no relation to race pace.

Top ten shoot out after FP3 and FP4 - or given the small grids a top 6 for the first two rows?

I still want them to run a reverse grid.

Okay, more idle time and procrastination from me

I believe for the sake of racing that the races are divided into 4 groups through the year and for 1 of the 4 or 5 races they announce that QP is nothing and this race will be a reverse grid from the previous QP session (race before).

You get an extra FP session, the field gets a spectacle. You keep the reverse grid races a secret until you arrive at the track (or draw it from a hat or whatever).

Could you imagine it, Casey, Vale, Nicki, Pedro or Jorge on the last row? Melandri and West, Hopper et al out the front on the start (although have a look at Westy today...)

The middle guys like Capa or Chris, JT or Edwards might get a chance to hold the top guys off and get some heat (confidence) into the tyres. I think Vale would be hard to beat and I would love to see Jorge or a resurgent Hayden doing this as well as my own fav Casey.

Are you reading this Ezy. Might ruin the script but I’d love to see it.

Man that would be something, you should email your proposal the Ezy. I would'nt think he reads this forum. He dose'nt get much love here, but I would'nt be surprised if he's paying someone to read it

On a side note. Pinky is back on but never answered your question

Its pointless asking him to explain anything, all he can do is throw crazy comments about. Ask him about it and he dissapears or if he dose answer its just to spew up more crazy ...., which wont have anything to do with what you asked him
