Stoner reveals V8 Supercar desire
Former MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner says he wants to race in V8 Supercars once his motorcycling career has come to an end.
The Australian 2007 world champ, who races for Ducati, says making the switch from two wheels to four would be a "relaxing" option.
"After I retire from bikes it's my plan basically," Stoner told autosport.com.
"Once I retire from bikes I think cars will be a little bit more of a relaxing sport for me.
"I'm not talking about going to Formula 1, but something like V8 touring cars in Australia. I think something like that would be a lot of fun."
Should Stoner make the switch he would join former motorcyclists Wayne Gardner and Troy Bayliss, who both experienced time behind the wheel of a V8 Supercar after their biking careers ended.
But the 24-year-old has no plans to give up his ride in MotoGP anytime soon as he aims to recover from a mixed 2009 which was disrupted by illness.
"It's something I'm planning on. But for now and for the near future I'm enjoying my bikes and that's all I want to do for now," Stoner said.
