We just got back from the race and what a weekend! The weather was HOT HOT HOT. Very unusual for the track. My prediction of Hayden and Pedrosa being strong was evident with the podium. Honda was happy to sweep the box. Rossi was looking strong and could have captured third had his Yamaha not had its mechanical issues. Lots of folks with horns so heres to Hayden and Honda for a great weekend.

Awesome race, I can't believe the bad luck Rossi is having this year, I think not getting any points this race was the last nail in the coffin, but anything's possable with him.
Hayden, Honda

yeah the honda's looked way too good for anyone this weekend. shame about vermuelen dropping off but i guess thats what we've come to expect from the suzuki's. and what about stoner again? how many times has he just slid off the same way?

well done nicky and dani

Congrats to Hayden but I'm shattered! Would have liked to see a bit more of an exciting race but I'm sure all the Hayden fans are satisfied! Congrats also to Pedrosa he put in a good effort and to all those who doubted him

! Shattered for Vermuelen and Hopkins aswell he was expecting to have a good race, will have to read the reports to find out what went wrong there. 51 points down with 6 races to go, will take a true champion to take the crown from Hayden now! Do you think Yamaha couldn't get a good set up coz of the heat?

What! You just ruined my race! There is a rule against disclosing race results without SPOILER in the title - for a week isn't it - and you even included the race result in the title itself! Crap on your head. I didn't get it from the 'Latest GP News' forum, I got an email notice and your posting title was displayed there hours before the delayed coverage reaches us here. Disgusting posting manners. What were you thinking? That everyone can see the race live?

And I thought this was a moderated forum. Don't you check the postings esp the titles!!? How .. how ... crappy.

this is a moderated forum and things have been said before about title postings but they cant be on here 24/7. the guys who moderate and run this forum put a lot of time and effort it and in the case of my bro who runs it, his own money too. please be appreciative of that before you say how crappy it is. i understand your frustration but it isnt their fault

great race...Dani was very impressive. Again I am very disappointed with Colin's performance. Rossi was looking like he was going to make it interesting but it seems to show the horrible luck he is having this season.

Well done Nicky!!

Bad choice for Thread titles....Please think first folks...

We can`t moderate this forum 24/7, we have a life you know. But I can understand where your coming from. People, please think before you post.

I cant believe so many people are writing Rossi off his title chances!
He can still win it with ease.
Hayden has had his home race now. I know he won at Assen, but he did nowt special.
Does Nicky have the bollocks to hold of the rest of the pack ?
I think not.
I would still prefer him to win title rather than Dani...

the numbers are 52 points behind, with 150 points still up for grabs. Mathematically, still very possible. But for Rossi to win he can`t just win every race, he has to rely on Hayden having bad luck, and the reality is Hayden is very consistent. and after Laguna last year his pace improved, and he`s known for doing well in the latter half of a season. So he`s going to be very hard to beat. And even if he gets plauged by bad luck, then there`s Pedrosa, who has learned this 990 business so fast it`s frigthening. He`s now also one of the most consistent riders, and, unlike Hayden, he isn`t allergic to winning races, which helps his points tally. Rossi is further behind now than he has been at any point during the championship, and there`s less points than ever avaliable. Even Rossi himself is starting to accept it. He hasn`t cmpletely ruled the title out, but he`s said he`s going to have fun, try and win as many races as possible and see what happens. He may yet end up as champion, but his chances haven`t looked this bad in a very long time.

Yeah, I watched it live on British Eurosport at 10pm, great race. Unlucky for Casey against Dani and very unlucky for Vermuelen, Edwards and Rossi!

I think you need to 'blame' the bridgestones for not holding it during the race. look at all the qualifings last season, the suzuki's were reasonable up front, but during the race they slipped back. if you ask me, the suzuki is a very very good bike with bad tyres

Mari, Chris said that the engine slowed him down in the later stages of the race. It was locking up the rear wheel on corner entrance and by the end he was considerably slowe than Melandri and Roberts as they got by him with ease. He actually said he was happy with his tire choice, which shocked me as he selected a medium compound rear.

didn't know that, but in the overall season they can't blame the suzuki's for everything. yeah, hopkins kicking his bike is still in my memory, but they too have bad luck with the tyres. bridgestone has a lot of things to sort out if they realy want to be on a par with michelin. suzuki is getting better, they are qualifing better every race

most of the guys were on hard-hard compounds, so medium is different choice. maybe that's why he could make a gap at the beginning of the race

do you remember my post in the 'motogp fantasy league' topic about vermeulen? I was SO wrong with saying that

according to crash.net colin was having the same problems with his rear tyre, but lucky for him, his bike didn't go pop. i don't wanna write rossi off cause i believe in him 150% but if the bike keeps on ....... up der isn't alot he can do !!

brno is the next round and the wsb were havin a lot of tyre trouble there, i no they run on different tyres, but there is alwayz the chance it could happen at the gp (i personally hope not).

I know what you mean Mari. I'm not trying to put all the blame on Suzuki because they have made leaps and bounds this season and I would say they have moved up to at least match the Kawasakis if they aren't a titch better now. Bridgestone have let them down a fair bit this season but at Laguna I think it was the Bridgestones that were on par and the Suzuki didn't perform.

hey not having a go at them marijke but how many times have you seen a suzuki at the front go backwards steadily this season? i feel sorry for chris and hopper

that is precisly what I mean, but I don't think the bike is the only cause of it, the tyres are a huge factor in it too. would love to see the suzuki's on michelins, then we would realy know if the suzuki's can be up front with the rest of the grid. I think they can
