Spies to stay in WSBK for 2010

That's the second article about this I've seen today and after seeing both
of them - and the photos accompanying them - I have to wonder, has
anyone noticed how much weight Spies appears to have lost? Compared
to the Spies of two years ago - he looks positively gaunt.

Spies stays in WSBK...that means I stay at home from Indy next year then since the gird will be the same ol song and dance. I had a great time this year, saw a lot of riders, got to see Joerge climb the fence right below my seats...but...I really really really wanna see Spies run in MotoGP. I'm having a hard time justifying the price for ticket renewal just to see the same thing again next year ($600 for 4 seats...ocuih!!). Might renew a pair and sell them later if I don't change my mind....

I don't see what you see in Spies
<

Its not exactly as if he's miles ahead of the rest of the pack in WSBK, matter of fact he is coming second
<

I don't think he will even come up to most of the guys at the middle of the pack. Toseland won in WSBK and look where it got him.

The guy is kicking ... as a Rookie in SBK on tracks he has never ridden (only on Playstation). He did Ok in his Moto gp wild card rides with suzuki. I believe that if he was on a Tech 3 yamaha right now he would be runing in 4th or 5th in the standings. So now we have to wait until 2011 to see how he really does

you guys realize that bens contract will be written so as to send him up tp motogp in 2010 if he wins the wsbk championship this season..... don't you?

This is definitely my interpretation also. The announcement was deliberately vague so as to include this possibility.

He should stay where he is. The fight for seats in MotoGP is just too competitive at the moment as evidenced by CV offering his services for free next year. Just too few spots for too many candidates and pretty much all of them have more GP experience than Spies does. It's better to figure out his situation after the 2010 grid shapes up and when the world economy starts to recover. Plus winning the 2010 WSBK championship (maybe his 2nd
<
) wouldn't hurt his GP candidacy at all.
