It's difficult not to like Ben - personally I'd like to see him on the podium - best of all in place of his team-mate. Not sure that hanging out with CE is the best thing for him to do - but then that's not just the nationality thing, but Yam-team driven. Given time - and I mean less than this season - I think he could be the next alien - replacing the alienette. It wouldn't surprise me to see Ben riding Repsol in 2011 - to completely replace the little one. Despite all the .... pitched at Rossi for demanding #1 status at Yam - it will only need for Ben to start challenging Lollo for us to see a ramped up repeat act in the Yam garage with a new Spanish-American war - and I don't see Ben winning that one. Maybe Ben just needs a bit more red meat to get him going in those early laps - maybe an injection of Italo-blood or whatever it takes to get him on the boil a bit faster. Anyway I see it - he's the best thing for MotoGP from the US for a longtime. Gooooo Ben goooooo

Yea, in the thread after the race when people were saying his shoulder kept him off the podium, it was pointed out that he ran his fastest lap of the race the lap before Spies got by him with around 6 laps to go. I also like Spies comment about how he wasnt upset that he didnt podium because he felt like it wouldnt have been deserved. He is a humble dude.

Spies is pushing hard for a contract extension at Yamaha. I'd be surprised if there is any movement between the factories outside of Dovizioso being pushed out of the Repsol garage.
