Starting this Friday, Speed Channel is down the memory hole, and Fox Sport 1 will takes its place as carrier of Moto Gp. As on this second, they do not have contracts with Direct, Dish, or Time Warner. Thats approx 55 million subscribers, or over 50%  of the paying customers in the country. I doubt they will feel the wrath if GP is not available this Sunday, but the Nascar fans who are tuning in to watch, it could get ugly for someone. Just this week,  i told Dish, look, i pay you motherfuckers 130 bucks a month for channels listed in my agreement. I will be watching the NFL on Fox with or without you, get something done. They tried to bribe me with these chicken .... discounts and how we are fighting for the little guy blah blah,   i told them that missing the NFL is not an option, PERIOD, end of discussion.  In a weird twist of timing, i got an email from Dish 5 minutes later saying they had reached an agreement and Fox had been restored. Now, another  disagreement with the new sports channel. Who will blink first. Does Fox risk a startup weekend without millions of its potential customers, or do the providers fold because the customers pay them and they are the ones who get bombarded with angry subscribers threatening to drop the service.  Luckily, for this round, i will be at the track, who nows whats in store for the futuire races. I might just have to break down and  subscribe to MotoGP.com.

Directv did the same .... few yrs ago with local Fox affiliate. For 2 weeks no nfl or any local broadcasts. Eventually it was worked out. Everyone that bitched got free hbo for a few months

I no longer watch Speed anyway. Wsbk is on BeIN Sport, Motocross is on Fuel, AMA is on CBS Sport. And btw if any of u have seen the CBS coverage, its ....... fantastic. Never been this good. Oh and while im at it, I say again, those top kids in DSB would crush the suppoed Spanish series kids they keep forcefeeding us in GP. If u boys havent, do urself a favor, torrent all the races from Utah. Both SBK but especially DSB were stellar. Made me proud of American moto talent. We gottem, theyre just ignored by the Euros.

I say it's about time the Transatlantic Match Races are resurrected, this time US vs Spain. Let's get this settled once and for all.

NASCAR....err...Speed Channel has been crap for years now, no loss in my opinion.

Like it matters anyway...

If you have Speed now, you will have Fox Sports1 when the 2 parties come to an agreement. There is a rumor now that regular Speed programming would  temporarily continue to keep from alianating  so many potential customers.

It is being reported in the LA Times today that Dish, Direct TV and Time Warner Cable have reached tentative agreements with Fox for Fox Sports 1 that will see all three providers carry the channel on launch this Saturday. Final negotiations will still be ongoing, however, between Fox and all three providers while the channel is being broadcast, so there is still a possibility that the broadcasters might boot the channel off if agreements can't be reached. However, I feel the parties must be close or none of them would be allowing their subscribers a taste of Fox Sports 1 in the first place.

The Spanish haunt you my friend

Well, so far I've never had that problem with BeIN. I have noticed, however, that they are beginning to chop rider interviews at the end of the races. Soccer season is about to begin in earnest in Europe this weekend, so we'll have to see if they maintain the standards they've established in the coming rounds of SBK.

What? No dude. I have .... on my DVR from programing that shows I have recorded "motocycle racing" FIM Superbike. Then I go to watch it and its some Spanish .... diving holding his ankle like a Mack truck just ran over it. Then they show the replay and the dude dint even get clipped. Its full on Euro soccer. I even forward to see if maybe its a matter of a live match going over and regular programs to resume. But no. They then go into player analysis and how one ... was not playing to his potential. And how the coach ...... up because his one substitution for one ... by another didnt result in a goal. Bla bla.

Maintain the rage Jum. Don't let them limp .... soccer diving MF's off the hook. Especially the .... Spaniels. You can't trust them Nancy Boy ........

Well Jumkie, that's your first mistake-using a DVR. I get my ... up early in the morning and watch the races live. I've never missed a bit of the action that way.
