I think its stronger than the suzuki and the Honda, perhaps even better then the Yamaha. Kawasaki have got it right this year, i just hope it lasts.

Well a few races ago i was starting to think he was really getting there, but then i questioned if i actually believe hes the 4th fastest guy in the world. He quick, but i don't believe hes that quick yet.

These stats are indicitave of perhaps nothing, but here are the points scored this season by just the Factory teams.
Marlboro Ducati---298
Fiat Yamaha ------270
Repsol Honda-----228
Rizla Suzuki-------217
Kawasaki ---------84
I think one could argue that the latter four are pretty close and Kawi has definitely been suffering from Rider issues.
Think of it this way
If you were to sign a 3 year deal with one of them who would you
choose?

Honda without a doubt!

I think the order atm would have to be:-
Ducati
Honda (upgraded)
Yamaha
Suzuki (in a Vermeulen interview i saw in Aus, he claimed the bike was 97% (some weird number) as good as any other bike on the grid, just lacking a hint of grunt off the turn.)
Kawasaki
D'antin Ducati's
Honda (not upgraded)
Yamaha (Dunlops)

Yeah, the Yamaha is no good. From what I understand though it's just a result of lots of little changes all having a negative impact on speed.

For instance, the I-4 isn't a huge boost in corner speed now that TC and 800s have tamed power. The I-4 needs more revs to make good power so they burn too much fuel trying to be fast in the straights. Cycle World said they were having engine management issues and were leaving too much fuel in the tank at the end of races.

Add all those small things to tire troubles, and you have a bike that is no longer competitive, imo.

Where is the Kawasaki looking strong.
I've been giving the Kawak-Hopper and Kawak or Suzuki Capirex deal some thought.

I don't see where the Kawasaki is doing the business. I've checked motogp.com race results and the top speed of the Kawak is at the bottom of the barrel ( not that top speed is all that makes a good bike - but comparing to the ducati that is cornering well and blowing everyone down the straight. I think that is a good measure of how far the bike is coming)

Thus show me the straight line speed, show me the corner speed. The Kawak ain't gettin-r-dun.

Well DePuniet can sit comfotably in practice as fast as Hopper can go on his Suzuki. I am left thinking the Kawasaki must be pretty good because i hope for Johns sake he is not slower than Randy.
