Silverstone viewing ?

Hi all,

I went to my 1st motogp meeting at Donnington last year with my son and was blown away by the whole day

I would really like to go to Silverstone this year but was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for a good viewing spot.

I was interested in getting a seat for the new stand "B" but all race day tickets are sold out. The only way to get in that stand now is a weekend pass but its on the expensive side £135:00.

Stand "B" does look to be in an excellent location to see a lot of the cct plus the new infield.

Would a normal roving day ticket be better ? Are there better viewing points than being higher up in a stand ?

Thanks

Paul

In my opinion Silverstone is a brilliant circuit and should produce superb racing. Its high speed flowing nature is suited perfectly to Moto GP. The problem is, in so far as spectating is concerned it sucks. Facility wise it is great, but as a largely flat circuit you are unable to command such a complete view of the track as could be obtained at somewhere like Coppice at Donington. I would've said that The Luffield complex is not bad, but this has been altered and I am not familiar with the new viewing arrangements at this new 'arrowhead' portion of the circuit which misses out Bridge. Now that the poxy chicane has been removed from Woodcote, and the run off extended it should be quite a spectacle watching the bikes sliding into the home straight again. I would suggest roving during practice, and viewing outfield from the faster far side of the circuit, say Club where I think there is still a stand, or The Hangar straight out of Chapel, which is fearsomely fast. It is a large circuit though, so be prepared for a hike.

Thanks Arrabbiata1 really want to be there for the atmosphere but dont know if i can stomach the price of a stand ticket.
Free roving like you say is gonna mean lots of hiking with possibly no great vantage point.

I cant help thinking get the lads round and make a day of it with the bbc or eurosport and save a load of cash but i know it aint gonna' be the same not being there.

Cheers Paul
