Sign petition to keep MotoGp on Eurosport

vote #629.
i voted not because i support pay per view. personally i think it should be on a free channel or because i have anything against the beeb commentators but purely because im afraid we may loose the smaller classes and free practice and quali.

signed!

I've signed for you boys and girls. I guess Dorna just want everyone to pay to watch online. Greedy .......s. Probably the more people sign up for this the more they'll be convinced there's enough desperate fans out there about to give their profit margins a good hike.

Voted even though i got an emailreply saying that eurosport will definitely not air moto gp in Sweden 2009.Some other channel will.
I sure don't want to loose the Swedish commentators:peter Dahlbom ,ex 250 rider and different guest commentators like Tobias Lion Endurance racer and Johan"Stiggy"Stigefelt running a top supersport team. They have very much knowledge.

Signed for the good of the sport. I don't get Eurosport, but everyone should have the opportunity to watch.

To be what?

Occasionally vaguely amusing, maybe. Certainly not a knowledgeable commentator on motogp.

The answer is Charlie Cox, btw.

What's wrong with BBC/BBCi?

Er, where to start:

1/ Dumbed down, diluted, asinine coverage and unlike Eurosport which made no concessions for the first time viewer, assumes each time you tune in it's for the first time. This is wholly in line with the current Dorna strategy to bring the product to the masses, and expand the commercial frontiers of Moto GP at the expense of the depth and quality of the coverage.
2/ Can't Sky Plus qualifying and 2 stroke races and fly away races on interactive
3/ A feature on Rossi and a career resumé/review every 2-3 weeks
4/ Steve Parrish, Charlie Cox and Matt Roberts don't know .....
5/ Nick Harris in his official Dorna capacity commentates on the 2 stroke races...marvelous that!
6/ A tiresome propensity to use Muse every six seconds as a soundtrack (see all BBC sport)
7/ Suzi rarely ever talks to anyone other than JT or Colin on the grid.
8/ They are still new to this GP lark, and it's as if after years of covering Superbikes they're still minnows lost in a very large ocean. Eurosport were a resident initiated part of the paddock, BBC are not.
9/ A complete lack of passion or enthusiasm combined with a total lack of insight renders the
commentary utterly pointless.
10/ Very little attention or acknowledgement ever given to the history of the sport. The other week they did briefly mention some chap called Mike Hailwood though.
11/ Eurosport seldom compromised their Live coverage of a GP weekend...bike racing WILL NOT be a priority for BBC sport as it was for Eurosport.
12/ The loss of Toby and Jules, Neil Spalding and Randy.
13/ 5 year deal maybe, but they'll never get the range of summarizers that Eurosport enticed into the commentary box while those clowns Parrish and Cox are running the show.
14/ Rubbish pre-show, crap build up.

The only plus point that I can possibly see from this is the fat that the racing won't be constantly interrupted at key points by those Wudy hot dog commercials, Del Pierro and his ...... Bergmann and adverts from the Croatian tourist board; but being as I used to flick over to the beeb during the commercial breaks anyway, I'm not really gaining anything.

Sadly this won't make any difference as the contracts have no doubt already been signed. It might make them see the strength of feeling and guide them when the contract ends, but then I doubt that as well since Dorna's aim is to work with national tv stations not international broadcasters.

I agree with the last comments about the poor quality of the BBC coverage and can't see them doing any extra live coverage on the normal channels - they can't even use BBCs 3 or 4 as they broadcast childrens tv during the day on Freeview. At least there is Freeview 301 for the 125 and 250 but this is not 100% reliable. When I am away on holiday I record the Eurosport Germany coverage as I won't pay for Sky. At least the option of free German coverage remains as they have signed up with DSF for the next 3 years. It will be interesting to see which channels they use in other countries that broadcast free on satellite.

Fookin post of the month (July) - bit late catching up!

I'd hate to say it guys - but... I want it on BBC 2!
I have a good reason so don't kill me.
I have no landline and no satalite. My digital freeview channels don't work. So i need a new areial and a satalite fed. Enough dosh a month to pay for it, oh and, a new digital tv.
So hense why I'm shouting on the roof tops bring it to BBC2. But advertise it more so i don't forget and miss it and then cry myself to sleep. And don't anyone say well record it - i can't, i don't have a recorder either. Actually technically i did a week ago but cause it was digital it wouldn't work so i took it back hahaha.

oh woo is me.
